13,799 participants in Volvo's City Safety contest aiming at reinforcing the importance of road safety
Volvo Cars Middle East announced on Tuesday May 26 2009, the winner of the XC60 City Safety. 13,799 participants from UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain played the safety game on Volvo's website and entered the draw to win the all exceptional Volvo XC60. The winner was 51 year old Abdelaziz Rabie, an Egyptian national working in UAE as the head of Marine Department in COWI Consultants a Danish engineering consultancy firm.
Roula Beiruty, Marketing Manager of Volvo Cars Middle East said: “Road safety has and will always be at the core of Volvo's interest, that's why we wanted to communicate the message of safety in a positive and fun way. So we launched this online contest that highlights the new City Safety feature of the XC60. The game permits participants to check how this unique feature works in city traffic. After playing the game, participants were offered a chance to enter a draw and win the new Volvo XC60, the safest car ever built by Volvo. "

Abdelaziz will be driving home on Tuesday 26 May, the all new Volvo XC60 with the following features: six-cylinder turbo charged, six-speed geartronic transmission,285 Horse Power, hill descent control, 6 Airbags, ABS - Antilock Brake System ,Anti Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS) and the latest Volvo innovation; City Safety. The City Safety feature is a unique technology for avoiding low-speed collisions in city traffic. This City Safety feature in combination with the recently introduced Collision Warning with Auto Brake means that Volvo Cars can now offer functions for auto-braking at all speeds.
