Q:  Who can perform repairs under the Volvo Carefree program free of charge for the customer?
A:  All coverage under this program, including warranty, free factory scheduled maintenance and wear component coverage can only be done by an authorized Canadian Volvo Retailer.

Q:  Are vehicles with Volvo Carefree Coverage eligible for warranty repairs in the U.S.?
A:  Yes, repairs necessary during the base warranty period of 4 years / 80,000km can be performed by any authorized Volvo Retailer in both Canada & the U.S. Repairs during the 5th year of warranty coverage which applies to purchased vehicles under the Carefree Coverage program can only be performed by authorized Canadian Volvo Retailers.

Q:  Are vehicles with Volvo Carefree Coverage eligible to have free maintenance or complimentary wear component coverage repairs in the U.S.?
A:  No. Volvo Carefree Coverage is a Canada specific program and therefore any maintenance & wear coverage components can only be honored by an authorized Canadian Volvo Retailer.

Q:  When does the warranty, free maintenance and wear coverage begin on a given vehicle?
A:  All eligible vehicles begin from the original in service date of the vehicle.

Q:  How long is the warranty coverage for vehicles under the Volvo Carefree Coverage program?
A:  All our vehicles have a 4 year / 80,000 km warranty. Purchased (non lease) vehicles are extended by 1 year to 5 years/80,000 km under this program.

Q:  Is Volvo Carefree Coverage transferable?
A:  The coverage is associated and remains with the vehicle. The coverage cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

Q:  What does "Volvo recommended factory scheduled maintenance" entail?
A:  It is the maintenance recommended by Volvo as described in the vehicle's Warranty & Maintenance Records Information booklet.

Q:  What components are covered under the wear component coverage portion of the Volvo Carefree Coverage program?
A:  Wear components are limited to brake pads, brake rotors & wiper blades.

Q:  What about adjustments? Are they covered under the Volvo Carefree Coverage plan?
A:  Adjustments are covered by Volvo's new car warranty for 1 year/20,000 kms.

Q:  When must a customer come in to have the free factory scheduled maintenance done on their vehicle?
A:  Each recommended service must be performed within 2,400 km of the normal service interval listed in the Warranty and Maintenance Records Information booklet. Volvo owners will be responsible for maintenance costs when mileage precedes or exceeds the recommended interval by 2,400 km. Service intervals missed by the owner will not be performed. Authorized Volvo Retailers will perform the service that is appropriate for the mileage or age of the vehicle. Volvo recommends that you bring your vehicle in for service at least once a year regardless of mileage.

Q:  What about low mileage vehicles? What if a customer does not drive at least 12,000 km a year?
A:  Volvo recommends that customers bring their vehicle in for service at least once a year, even if the vehicle mileage between services is less than 9,600 km. These low mileage vehicles will be eligible as long as they are serviced within 2 months of their anniversary date (in service date anniversary).
