Exterior
R-Design models are available in a variety of exterior colours, with trim moldings, decor trim and door mirror housing in a unique metal finish. All cars feature an R-Design badge in distinctly coloured grilles – from matte silver to piano black – and chromed or polished tailpipes. The R-Design exterior colour choices include Black Sapphire, Electric Silver, Saville Grey, Passion Red and Ice White. The XC60 R-Design is also available in Cosmic White, while the C30 R-Design is also available in Orange Flame and Titanium Grey.

2012 XC60 R-Design

Depending on the model, R-Design vehicles feature different body kits. The S60 and C30 come with colour-matched front and rear spoilers, while the XC90 has aluminum scuff plates and the XC60 chrome-plated skid plates. Lower side mouldings on all R-Design models are colour-matched to the rest of the body

R-Design models are also outfitted with five-spoke aluminum wheels. The C30 features 18" Midir wheels, while the S60 has 18" Ixion wheels. The XC90 and the XC60 both feature 20" Cratus wheels.

Interior
The interior of the R-Design models is as distinctive as their exterior styling. Upholstery is offered in exclusive R-Design colourways of Off Black or Soft Beige, with matching interiors in Anthracite Black and the R-Design logo embossed on the front seats. Other R-Design interior details include a leather-trimmed sports steering wheel with R-Design logo, the unique R-inspired instrument cluster, brushed aluminum sport pedals with rubber tips, specially designed aluminum center stack and door inlays, a gear selector trimmed with leather and aluminum and sport floor mats with contrasting piping.
