Here are the first official pictures of the all-new Volvo S60 - sportier and more dynamic than any previous Volvo model.

Volvo Cars recently presented a range of fuel-efficient DRIVe models, all with best-in-class CO2 emission levels at the Geneva motor show. The extremely low figures for the C30, S40 and V50 have been achieved thanks to an advanced Start/Stop system.

Volvo Cars has developed a new crash-test dummy to test its cars' active safety systems. The latest addition to the crash-test dummy family is Bob.

His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent has awarded Volvo Cars a special international award(1) to mark the 50^th Anniversary of the invention of the three-point safety belt and in acknowledgement of the company's vision to design cars that should not crash.

EuroNCAP has instituted a new assessment protocol for evaluating the degree of whiplash protection offered by passenger cars in rear-end collisions. The Volvo XC60 was one of the few models to receive the highest rating. For the first time, EuroNCAP is now conducting tests in order to rate the whiplash protection offered by cars. Twenty-five cars were tested in the initial round. The XC60, with Volvo's unique Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), was one of five cars to receive the highest rating.

Here is the first glimpse of Volvo Cars' next concept car. The Volvo S60 Concept will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in early January 2009 - and it gives a clear indication of what the all-new Volvo S60 will look like when it is introduced during 2010.

The New Volvo XC60, Volvo's latest model and a new addition to the increasingly popular crossover segment of the market, is now better value than ever. Volvo Car Ireland have just announced that the launch price for the XC60 2.4D variant will be €46,950*, which is €3,000 less than the original price indicated. This price will apply for deliveries in the early months of 2009.

Volvo Cars and toy manufacturer Viking Toys have launched a playful collaboration - Volvo cars for the youngest members of the family.

Volvo Cars has engaged world-famous Swedish glassworks Orrefors in the work with the company's next concept car, which will be a first taste of the next-generation Volvo S60. The joint creation, a floating centre stack of hand-made Orrefors crystal, will be shown for the first time at the Detroit international motor show in January 2009.

Volvo Car Corporation has decided to enter its new ethanol powered Volvo C30 racer in the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) at Brands Hatch on the 26 - 27th of July.

At the Volvo Car Corporation, the vision is to design cars that should not crash. In the shorter perspective the aim is that by 2020 no-one should be killed or injured in a Volvo. The Volvo Car Corporation is extending the engine range in the Volvo C70 with a 2-litre turbodiesel - making this the first four-cylinder engine in the convertible.

Volvo Car Ireland have announced a new 2.5-litre turbocharged Flexifuel engine with a power output of 200 hp will be shortly introduced in the Volvo V70 and S80. 

Two-litre turbodiesel versions of the Volvo C30, S40 and V50 are now also available with a fully-automatic transmission.

Volvo’s new City Safety system which helps avoid or reduce the severity of low-speed collisions has won the Technology category at the Fleet World Honours1 Awards 2008 in London today. 

In anticipation of the impending start of the holiday season Volvo have further reduced some prices of its high quality, fully tested and warranted range of towbars by up to 17%, with new lower prices now ranging from just €363.30 to €748.98 depending on model.

Just 60 days are left to enjoy the one clear opportunity in the 2008 Budget to reduce the amount of tax paid on the purchase of a new car – by buying one of Volvo's new range of environmentally friendly Flexifuel cars before the 30th June 2008.
