Volvo Car Ireland is delighted to announce that the Volvo S60 has been named winner of D-Segment Premium award at the Motorcheck.ie Fleet Car Awards organised by fleet Car Magazine at an award ceremony yesterday, beating the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Volkswagen CC.
Volvo’s recent range of more fuel efficient engines; the quality, desirability and reliability of its premium cars; along with the efficiency of its ‘Designed Around You And Your Business’ fleet solutions were all key factors in winning the award.
Along with winning the Premium D-Segment at the awards, the Swedish car maker was shortlisted in three further categories, the Volvo V40 in the newly established C-Segment Premium, the Volvo V60 in the Premium Estate award and the Volvo S80 in the Executive award.
This is the third year of the Fleet Car Awards which was sponsored by Car History and Automotive Data experts Motorcheck.ie. “We are delighted to be involved as title sponsor of the Fleet Car Awards again this year. The fleet sector is such an important part of the Irish Motor Trade and these awards are a fitting recognition of this fact,” said Michael Rochford, Managing Director of Motorcheck.ie.
This award marks a flying start to 2014 for Volvo Car Ireland as the company brings to market new, class-leading versions of the Volvo S60 and V60 with an all-new D4 engine that emits a class-leading 99g/km CO2 while producing 181hp, making it a compelling choice for company car users. The new D4 engine is available in all Volvo Models across the range.
The Volvo the S60 and V60 models were also named Best Premium Car of the Year in the UK by leading business sales publication Fleet News earlier this year, beating the Audi A4 and A6 and BMW 3-Series and were also shortlisted in two further categories namely New Company Car of the Year with the S60 and V60 models and Best Crossover with the XC60.
Adrian Yeates, Managing Director of Volvo Car Ireland added: “We’re delighted to have won this Motorcheck.ie Fleet Car Award, which serves to underscore Volvo’s commitment to providing great cars and user experiences to our business customers. With our new D4 engine, we have one of our strongest model line-ups to date for 2014 which was illustrated at the awards yesterday and we look forward to building on this success.”
