Engineering internships

The VESC Programme

Engineering students are crucial to Volvo Cars’ future. Our Engineering departments are open for summer jobs and thesis work to students through the Volvo Engineering Student Concept (VESC). 

Manufacturing Engineering offers summer jobs to students with a Bachelor degree that are aiming for Master studies. We provide two years of summer job, an individual mentor during the period and support during thesis work.

Research and Development offers summer jobs to students between the first and second year of Master’s studies. We provide individual mentorship during the autumn and support during thesis work.

Inspiring a new generation of female engineers

At Volvo Cars we are proud partners in the Pepp-programme – a pioneering one-year mentorship scheme that helps female students get their careers off to a flying start. The programme starts in January and is open to both university and high school students.

Volvo experience programme

Internships for young people: the Experience Programme

The Volvo Experience Programme gives young people who are currently unemployed the chance to gain vital insight and work experience as part of a seven-month internship. It is a collaboration between Volvo Cars and the Swedish Employment Office, Arbetsförmedlingen.

School cooperations in Sweden

Volvo Cars’ Swedish high schools, Volvogymnasiet in Skövde and Göteborgs Tekniska College in Gothenburg, are centres of excellence for technical education. We also work with Sweden’s leading universities, from the Chalmers University of Technology to the University of Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law.
