This famous quotation by the founders of Volvo, Assar Gabrielsson and Gustaf Larson laid the foundation for the core values of Volvo Cars. Ever since, safety has been one of the natural core values of our company. Later accompanied by other values, all with respect for humanity, such as care for the enviroment and designing cars to enhance the quality of life of our customers.
 
Thanks to this heritage our work culture has always been very human-centric. A Volvo car is not really defined by technology. It’s defined by the people that work here. Behind every detail of a Volvo car there is a human thought and skill of a designer, a purchaser, an engineer, a marketer and many more. The refined technology is mainly a tool to make cars that are amongst the safest, most beautifully designed and environmentally responsible in the world.
