  • THE VCC ENTHUSIAST VEHICLE DAY

    2012-05-23
For the third consecutive year, Volvo Cars employees with hobby vehicles were invited to show them on May 23 at the so-called Volvo Cars Vehicle Enthusiast Exhibition, in one of the big parking lots next to the VCC offices.

Hundreds of blue and white collar enthusiasts from all departments and sections of the company – including curious visitors from other nearby companies – used their lunch break to look at some 140 cars, 25 motorbikes, a few bicycles and other technical contraptions, discuss vehicle history and technical matters with other like-minded colleagues. Many makes and models were present, many of them long gone and some almost forgotten but there were also newer and exclusive models from some of the specialist car manufacturers of today.

Of course Volvo Cars Heritage used an anniversary vehicle, an Amazon estate for the Volvo Cars enthusiast day. This lovely 1963 car has been featured on several shows and in magazine stories this year and belongs to a caring lady owner.

Volvo Cars Heritage showed up in a white 1963 Amazon estate and had also brought along an old two-wheeler just for fun, a 1935 Crescent bicycle in perfectly working original condition that belongs to Claes Rydholm.

For Volvo Cars Heritage it is not only a matter of showing up at major national and international events but also to be present and inform about the heritage activities inside the company.

The enthusiasts behind this excellent initiative are VCC engineers Hans-Göran Milding and Richard Andersson.
