For the forth consecutive year, Volvo Cars Experience invites children from the Childrens Hospital in Gothenburg to spend a day at Volvo Cars, filled with activities and fun, together with their parents and staff from the hospital. The day, which has now become a popular tradition, is organised jointly by Volvo Cars Experience – of which Volvo Cars Heritage is a part – and the Childrens Hospital.
The children are aged between 3 and 16 years. At Volvo, they experience new and exciting things that are usually reserved for grown-ups, customers and media. This year the programme contained activities like riding in cars driven on two wheels only and lapping the Demo track in the passenger seat of a Volvo STCC racing car.
Rides were also offered in Volvo classics like a Carioca, a Duett, Amazon and 1800 and on the heavy side, it was also possible to try out the truck cabs at the nearby Volvo Truck Demo Centre. A special factory tour on the Blue Train was also included in the programme and so was a nice outdoor barbecue. More than 100 people, both children and parents, took the opportunity to do things that only Volvo Cars can offer and thoroughly enjoyed the (windy) day.
