  • Träffpunkt 70 – an orgy in orange

    2009-05-20

Different shades of brown, yellow, green and a cascade of orange (the symbol colour of the 1970s) characterized Träffpunkt 70 – a meeting for vehicles from the 1970s – which was held in the town of Borås on the 17th of May.

Organized by classic car magazine "Klassiker", this meeting was held for the first time after their Träffpunkt 80 has gained success two years in a row. The site was the cultural centre of Borås which was built in the square stone and concrete 1970s bunker style and was a perfect setting for the cars you have cherished or forgotten. In total, almost 300 cars was exhibited, from Ferraris to 2CV Citroëns.

Volvo Cars Heritage and Volvo Museum had a stand together and displayed the VESC Volvo Experimental Safety Car from 1972 accompanied by its project leader at the time, Arne Åsberg. Together with the VESC, a lovely white Volvo 1800E from 1970 represented the production Volvos of the 70s.

There was sunshine, many happy faces and big interest for the cars that were built before the era of emission control and power-assisted everything.
