Volvo car engines can use RON 91 to RON 98 of unleaded petrols. However, for best performance and lowest fuel
consumption, utilising RON 98 fuels (or the closest RON) is recommended.

For normal driving, RON 95 is acceptable. RON 91 should only be used in situations where RON 95 is unavailable. Knock
sensors in your Volvo’s engines will adjust the engine timing to prevent damage when using very low RON fuels.
