Volvo swept three awards at the recent Shell V-Power Autoworld Car of the Year Award 2011 for the Volvo S80 T5 and the Naughty Volvo S60 T5.
The Volvo S80 T5 was awarded the Best Premium Mid-Sized Passenger Car Award and Autoworld Member’s Choice Award after garnering the highest number of votes from the public.
The Naughty Volvo S60 T5 picked up the Best Premium Compact Passenger Car Award.
Shell V-Power Autoworld Car of the Year Awards 2011 was organised by Autoworld.com.my to evaluate the merits of vehicles in various categories. The objective is to acclaim the most outstanding new cars that are currently on sale in each respective category in the past 12 months (Nov 2010–Oct 2011).
The judging criteria was a combination of design, comfort, safety, fuel efficiency, handling, performance, functionality, environmental requirements, driver satisfaction, price (value for money) and technical superiority.
The combined votes from an 11-person judging panel using scores from on-the-road test drive evaluations and from members of the public were tallied to nominate the cars of the year from 33 contesting cars of various brands. A total of about 50,000 individual online votes were received during a 5-week period between November and December 2011.
The judging process for the award is audited by KPMG and is also supported by the Malaysian Automotive Association.
Here’s a big thanks to all of you for your support from all of us at Volvo Cars Malaysia.
