  • Preventive safety

    • City Safety
      • We know that even a low-speed collision can be really traumatic for you. And it only takes a moment’s distraction in a busy city centre to find yourself in just such a scenario. So we wondered whether it would be possible for your Volvo to lend a helping hand. Well, that’s exactly what City Safety is all about, a laser-based system that can sense an impending collision at speeds of up to 50km/h. In the first instance, City Safety prepares the brakes so that they respond faster when you press the pedal. And if you fail to brake, City Safety will apply the brakes for you and switch off the throttle to lessen the effects of a collision. Even better, if the difference in speed between your car and the one in front is less than 15km/h, City Safety can prevent a collision from happening in the first place. And to make sure your Volvo is ready for such an eventuality, City Safety is activated as soon as you start your car. City Safety is just one element of our complete approach to car safety. We call it IntelliSafe, and it’s a programme targeted at fulfilling our aim to create cars that will help you avoid collisions altogether – it includes such features as Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist and much more.
    • Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake and Pedestrian Detection
      • Statistics show that in half of all rear-end collisions the driver at fault doesn’t brake at all. Active at speeds above 4 km/h, our collision avoidance technology can give you audible and visible warnings if you’re too close to a vehicle in front or if there are pedestrians in your path. If you don’t react and a collision is imminent, full auto-braking is engaged to help you avoid or mitigate an impact. Within a range of 150 metres, a radar sensor behind the grille continuously monitors the distance to the vehicle driving in front of you and a digital camera behind the windscreen determines what objects are in front of you. During daylight it can also detect standing or moving pedestrians. If a pedestrian unexpectedly steps out in front of your car or if a vehicle suddenly brakes (or is stationary or approaches in your lane) and Collision Warning senses that a collision is likely to happen, it will prompt you to act with a flashing warning light on the windscreen along with an audible alarm. Moreover, this technology supports driver-initiated braking by pre-charging the brakes to minimise the braking distance. If you don’t react to the warning and a collision is imminent, the car immediately brakes with full braking force.
    • Driver Alert Control (DAC)
      • You know the scenario. Maybe you’ve had a long day at the office or possibly too many hours behind the wheel, and your attention begins to waver. This is a danger zone that we’ve given a lot of thought to, because distracted drivers cause up to 90 per cent of all accidents. That’s why we’ve developed Driver Alert Control (DAC) to help distracted drivers at speeds over 65km/h. A camera looks at the road ahead while DAC checks on your steering inputs to see how they compare to your regular driving style. If it senses that you’re driving more erratically, or there are signs that you’re drowsy or distracted, it’ll give you an audible warning and a message on the instrument panel suggesting you take a break.
    • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
      • It can happen so easily; you’re on a long motorway trip, or momentarily distracted and you wander briefly out of your lane. This puts you in danger of collision, or of simply going off the road on your own. It doesn’t bear thinking about, but your Volvo can help with the Lane Departure Warning system. When you’re driving over 65km/h, a camera looks at the lane markings and can tell if you wander out of your lane. If you do, it will give you an audible warning but if you use indicators to signal a lane change, LDW will stay silent.
    • Lane Keeping Aid (LKA)
      • At speeds between 65 km/h and 200 km/h, Lane Keeping Aid can help prevent single-vehicle road departures as well as collisions caused by temporary distraction. This function uses a digital camera to register the lane markings and help monitor the car’s position on the road. If you get close to a lane marking, LKA will apply a gentle steering wheel torque to help keep the car in the lane. And should you nevertheless unintentionally cross the lane marking you'll be alerted by haptic vibrations in the steering wheel. When you intentionally cross a lane marker using the direction indicators, LKA is not activated.
    • Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) with Advanced Stability Control, Corner Traction Control, Engine Drag Control and Sport Mode
      • It can catch you out when you least expect it. And it really is a heart-stopping moment when, on a rain-slicked or ice-covered road, the tail of your car steps out as it threatens to go into a skid. Steer into that skid and you can end up fishtailing, and ultimately, going into a spin. This is precisely the kind of scenario that has made Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) one of the most vital safety advances of the past decade. The system looks at factors like what direction the car is travelling, how fast the wheels are rotating and how much steering lock is applied. Using all this information, DSTC can detect a potential skid and take action to prevent it by reducing engine power and/or braking the appropriate wheels. It can also prevent the wheels from locking during engine braking, using Engine Drag Control (EDC). To help the DSTC system work even sooner and with more precision to prevent a skid, the Advanced Stability Control (ASC) system has a new multi-axis sensor. But ASC is about giving you a rewarding driving experience, too, so when you’re cornering enthusiastically the car will feel even more dynamically stable. Another feature that means you’ll experience sharper turn-in to corners, less understeer and more fun behind the wheel is Corner Traction Control (CTC). It works by braking the inside driven wheel if it starts to lose its grip through a corner, while sending the power to the outer wheel instead. And if you’re in the mood for a bit of performance driving, DTSC has a Sport Mode. It cuts out the engine power reducing function and allows a controlled amount of rear wheel slip, as long as it senses that the driver is using the steering wheel and accelerator in a dynamic way and as long as it doesn’t go too far, in which case it will return to the normal DSTC-function.
    • Intelligent Driver Information System (IDIS)
      • To help avoid distractions during critical driving situations, IDIS constantly analyses your driving and will delay secondary information from the car or one of its on-board systems when it detects intense steering, braking or acceleration. As soon as things calm down, the phone call or the delayed information is presented. IDIS can be set up to let phone calls through in all driving situations.
    • Anti-locking brakes with Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) and Ready Alert Brakes (RAB)
      • When you’ve been caught by surprise by another car pulling out of a junction unexpectedly, that’s when large anti-lock disc brakes really come into their own – shorter stopping distances at times like this make all the difference. And if you find yourself travelling down a mountain road with the need to brake often and hard, you’ll welcome our brakes’ resistance to fading. But since there is always a risk of fade, your Volvo is prepared for this, too, with Fading Brake Support (FBS). This system gradually builds hydraulic brake pressure so that you always have reassuring pedal feel. But what if you find yourself having to brake in an emergency, and perhaps not applying the necessary pressure to the pedal? Well, we’ve developed Hydraulic Brake Assist, which ensures that maximum braking pressure is applied hydraulically during a panic stop. Likewise, if you suddenly lift off the accelerator or sensors detect an obstacle in front of the car, Ready Alert Brakes instantly move the brake pads closer to the brake discs to reduce the braking distance. And Electronic Brake Distribution ensures that the right amount of braking goes to the front and rear of the your Volvo depending on where the load in the car is distributed and what the road conditions are.
    • LED dayrunning lights, decor
      • Automatically activated during daylight, these energy efficient LED lights make your car more conspicuous. And when the dipped headlights are needed for illumination, they are automatically engaged by a twilight sensor. What’s more, the spoiler integrated LED lights also add to the distinct styling of your Volvo.
    • Side-marker lamps
      • Integrated front and rear side-marker lamps help alert other drivers to your car’s presence.
    • Adaptive brake light
      • We’ve all been on the motorway when the car in front unexpectedly brakes hard and then you have to brake even harder, while praying that the car behind you reacts in time. Wouldn’t you like to have some way of making sure traffic behind knows there’s a problem? Well, that’s our Adaptive Brake Light, which works above 50km/h and knows the difference between normal and panic braking. If it is a panic stop, the brake lights will flash at a rate of four times per second, which will telegraph a clear message to following traffic that there’s a potential problem ahead. Once you slow to below 10km/h, the brake lights stop pulsing and your hazard lights take over.
    • Water-repellent front side windows
      • To provide far better visibility in the rain, your Volvo’s front side windows help repel water as you drive. The hydrophobic surface treatment turns water into small drops that will be blown away by the force of the wind. This also gives you the benefit of less ice or frost in winter conditions. This is option offered in combination with laminated windows.
    • Warning triangle
      • This lightweight wide-angle reflector stands upright to alert other road users even in strong winds and on slippery surfaces. It folds easily and stores in its own case.

    Protective safety

    • Reinforced passenger compartment
      • Imagine the peace of mind you and your passengers will have knowing that a strong protective steel cage surrounds you. And that it’s reinforced with one of the strongest steel types available – boron steel. In a collision, the front and rear crumple zones help to dissipate the energy of the crash to reduce the impact on those inside the car, while in a side-on impact, our Side-Impact Protection System (SIPS) distributes the crash force across a large portion of the car’s body to further reduce your risk of injury. And to help protect passengers even further, there is a steel cross-member under the dashboard.
    • Side Impact Protection System (SIPS)
      • We believe that the car should bear the brunt of any collision, not the people inside it. That’s why we’ve developed our cars so that they offer the best protection, not just from front and rear impacts, but also from side-on collisions. The steel framework of the car – and that includes the front seat frames – has been designed to help displace the impact of a side-on collision away from the people inside and prevent intrusion into the cabin. And because we understand that an impact with a larger vehicle is a possibility on busy roads, the extremely strong side structure contains ultra-high strength steel to help withstand a severe impact. We have even taken into account the side windows, the most vulnerable feature of the car’s doors – the Inflatable Curtain (IC) works in conjunction with SIPS and the side airbags to protect people in the front seats. In the rear, SIPS and the IC protect the passengers.
    • Restraint technologies
      • In a collision, Volvo's restraint technologies interact to help reduce the impact to the occupant. The safety belts with pre-tensioners activate within a few thousandths of a second in the event of a collision or roll-over and tighten the belt to help keep the occupants restrained. The front seat safety belts then release a little so that the driver and passenger are cushioned by the airbags in a controlled manner. Helping to provide protection, the dual-stage airbags adapt the level of inflation depending on the force of the collision. The driver's airbag also interacts with the deformation of the collapsible steering column. A knee airbag above the pedals further enhances protection of the driver. Side airbags in the front seats help reduce the risk of serious injuries in a side collision. In a collision or roll-over, the Inflatable Curtain (IC) helps protect the heads of both front and rear outboard occupants.
    • Safety belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters
      • Safety belts are the first line of defence when it comes to protecting people from injury during a crash. That’s why we invented them in 1944. We also invented the audible and visual safety belt reminder and today, everybody in the car is reminded to fasten their safety belts before moving off. And in the information display on the instrument panel, you can check that the rear seat passengers have all fastened their safety belts and that nobody unfastens them during the trip. Pre-tensioners activate to tighten the belts within a few thousandths of a second in the event of a collision. The front seat safety belts then release a little so that the driver and passenger are cushioned by the airbags in a controlled fashion.
    • Dual-stage airbags, driver and front passenger
      • In a frontal collision, the driver and passenger airbags help protect your head, face and chest. But because no two collisions are the same, the airbags adapt the level of inflation depending on the force of the impact. To help minimise the impact on the driver, the driver’s airbag also interacts with the deformation of the collapsible steering column. And if the impact is low enough that the airbags aren’t needed, the system will just deploy safety belt pre-tensioners.
    • Passenger airbag cut-off switch
      • The passenger airbag is designed to protect an adult in a frontal collision. But if a child or a person shorter than 140 centimetres is in the front passenger seat, the airbag must first be disengaged to avoid the risk of serious injury. The airbag cut-off switch is positioned on the passenger end of the dashboard and can only be accessed with the door open, to prevent accidental use. When the airbag is switched off (just use your car’s key), you’re notified by a message on the roof console display.
    • Side airbags
      • To ensure maximum protection for the chest and hip during a side-on collision, the side airbags inflate during a side-on impact. They are located in the ideal spot on the front seatback.
    • Inflatable Curtain (IC)
      • In a side-on collision, the Inflatable Curtain (IC) helps protect the heads of both front and rear passengers who are sitting on the sides. It also stays inflated for several seconds to provide prolonged protection in the event of secondary impacts. And in Volvos equipped with integrated booster seats, the Inflatable Curtain has been extended downward to improve head protection for smaller or younger children.
    • Collapsible steering column
      • The steering column is an advanced part of the safety system, with the upper and lower sections giving way in a controlled manner in a frontal impact to help protect the driver.
    • Pre-prepared restraints
      • Wouldn’t it be great it your car could prepare for the worst? Well, your Volvo can, with another IntelliSafe feature that maximises comfort while quietly and unobtrusively going about the business of safety. Using advanced sensors, the car scans the road ahead and if the system spots an obstacle that could result in a collision, it prepares the airbags and seatbelts for the expected crash force. This gives the best protection in a low or medium-severe frontal collision.
    • Energy-absorbing interior
      • All the panels and door sides are padded with energy-absorbing materials to help reduce the risk of injury to the car’s passengers.
    • Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS)
      • It’s something that happens every day in every major city in the world – a moment’s inattention and one driver runs into the back of another. And the result can be long-term injury as a result of whiplash. Volvo, as part of its IntelliSafe programme, has developed a system that can reduce the risk of long-term injury by as much as 50 per cent. During a rear impact, the WHIPS system moves the entire seatback with the passenger or driver – similar to the way you might gently catch a ball – while the head restraint remains rigid to support the neck. A unique Volvo design.
    • Head restraints
      • We have developed head restraints that offer outstanding protection regardless of a person’s height, whether they are seated in the front or the rear. And the rear middle head restraint can be fully retracted into the backrest to improve the driver’s rearward visibility. It’s designed to obstruct taller passengers from sitting down without raising the restraint to its upright position. The outer head restraints can fold forward at the press of a button (optional) to further improve rear vision. In the folded position, they too are designed to obstruct passengers from sitting down without raising the restraints to their upright position.
    • Anti-submarining protection
      • In the event of a big impact, there’s always a risk that passengers can slide under and out of their safety belts. Volvo has greatly reduced this threat with anti-submarining guards, which are specially shaped panels angled upwards at the forward edge inside the seats.
    • Protection of unprotected road-users
      • Volvo's unique pedestrian airbag helps reduce the risk of injury to unprotected road-users. To further help reduce the risk of serious injuries to unprotected road-users, the front of the vehicle is gently rounded, the headlamps are integrated flush with the body, and the bonnet is energy-absorbing to act as a crumple zone.
    • Pedestrian airbag
      • The pedestrian airbag is a Volvo safety world first and an important step to reduce the consequences of a frontal collision between a car and a pedestrian. Sensors in the front bumper register an impact with a pedestrian and release the rear end of the bonnet together with an airbag that covers the area under the bonnet, 1/3 of the windscreen and the lower part of the windscreen pillars. This together with energy-absorbing front and bonnet design helps reduce the severity of pedestrian injury in an impact. The pedestrian airbag is active at speeds from 20 km/h to 50 km/h.

    Security

    • Level sensor
      • Triggers the alarm if anybody attempts to jack up the car to steal the wheels or tow it away.
    • Remote controlled alarm
      • In an emergency, you can use the panic button on the remote control to attract attention. Press and hold the button for at least 3 seconds or press it twice to activate the hazard lights and the horn.
    • Remote-controlled central locking system
      • A touch of a button on the remote control or the optional Personal Car Communicator unlocks the doors and bootlid. Use the personal settings menu to decide if the remote unlocks the driver’s door first, or all doors at the same time. You can also close or open all windows (including the sunroof if you have one) and unlock the boot separately.
    • Automatic door locking
      • To further enhance your personal security, the doors can be set in the information menu to automatically lock the moment you drive away. Alternatively, lock them swiftly from the front seats using the lock button. Lock buttons are also available for the rear seat passengers.
    • Global locking and closing
      • This function allows you to close all windows and lock the car all at once by pressing the button on the remote control or the Personal Car Communicator for two seconds. Alternatively, press the button for two seconds to unlock the car and open all the windows.
    • Immobiliser and theft-protected locks
      • Not only will the door locks withstand most break-in attempts, the electronic immobiliser makes it impossible to start the car without the right key. And even if a would-be thief manages to get into the car via the window, the deadlock system makes it impossible to open the door from the inside.
    • Personal Car Communicator (PCC)
      • PCC is an advanced remote control that combines ‘keyless drive’ with two-way communication with your Volvo. Keep the PCC with you and the car unlocks automatically as you pull the door handle. Start the engine by pressing a button on the dash, and when you park, lock your car by pressing a button in the door handle. Later in the day, if you’re wondering whether you’ve locked your car, the PCC can tell you by displaying the status that the car was last left in, wherever you are in the world. When you are approaching your car (within a distance of approximately 100m), the PCC can give you a warning if the car’s alarm has been activated, and an extra visible warning if it’s been activated within the last five minutes.
    • Keyless drive
      • Keep the car key in your pocket or handbag. Using keyless drive technology you can unlock the doors and drive away without using the car key. To start the engine, just turn the starter control in the instrument panel.
    • Approach and Home Safe lighting
      • Activated with the remote control or the Personal Car Communicator, Approach Lighting provides a warm reception on a dark night. This consists of parking lights, interior lights and ground lighting too, if fitted. Home Safe Lighting is activated with the headlight stalk as you leave the car. This feature provides a low beam from the headlight to accompany you to your door, whether you’re returning home or are out on the road.
    • Power retractable door mirrors with ground lighting
      • To protect your door mirrors from damage while the car is parked, press both buttons for the left and right mirror at the same time to fold them flat against the car. They can also be set to fold or unfold automatically every time you lock or unlock the car. The integrated ground lighting is activated by the approach light button on your remote control or your Personal Car Communicator, enhancing security as you go to and from your car at night. And to facilitate parking, the door mirrors can tilt automatically (or by the push of a button) when reversing.
  • Seats

    • Ergonomically designed seats
      • The seats in your Volvo may well be the most important ones in your life – over the lifetime of your car, you will probably spend thousands of hours sitting on them. That’s why we spent so much time developing their ergonomic sculpted design, firm yet comfortable, with supporting side cushions and ergonomic padding. Indeed, our seats are widely accepted as some of the finest in the car world. They have features like stepless lumbar support in the front seats, which allows for the tiniest degrees of adjustment for the best support for each individual. Add in our wide choice of upholstery materials and designs, and you’ll have a seat you’ll never want to leave.
    • Five individual seats
      • All occupants will appreciate the comfort of a separate ergonomically designed seat. Cinema-style seating helps provide an excellent view, wherever you're seated. The easily adjustable front and second row seats make it easy to find the perfect seating position and maximum comfort. You can even remove the tunnel section's rear section to add extra legroom in the rear middle seat. Each rear seat is easy to fold into the load area floor so you can transport both passengers and cargo without compromising on either comfort or safety. By specifying the five-seater version, you'll also gain added storage capacity under the load floor.
    • Coat hanger, front
      • Fitted to the front passenger seat head restraint, this keeps your jacket within easy reach from the driver’s seat and without obscuring your rear vision.

    Climate

    • Cabin filter
      • Preventing dust and pollen from entering the cabin via the ventilation system, the cabin filter is a real benefit to driver and passengers, especially those prone to hay fever or other allergies.
    • Electronic Climate Control (ECC)
      • Electronic Climate Control (ECC) maintains the cabin temperature you choose and can be set independently for the driver and front passenger. Further contributing to your health and comfort, the system’s humidity sensor helps ensure cabin air has an appropriate level of humidity in relation to the outside climate.
    • Interior Air Quality System (IAQS)
      • Volvo’s IAQS continuously monitors incoming air and will, if necessary, temporarily close external air vents to shut out carbon monoxide, ground-level ozone and nitrogen dioxide. When the air vents are opened, an active carbon filter protects the passengers from other harmful gases and unpleasant odours. This helps to ensure that the air you breathe in the car is clean, often cleaner than that outside when driving in heavy city traffic and tunnels.
    • Clean Zone Interior Package (CZIP)
      • There’s nothing that gets a trip off to a worse start than getting into stuffy car, particularly on a warm day. To prepare a fresh environment in your Volvo, CZIP initiates a ventilation cycle, which is triggered when you unlock the car with your remote control or your Personal Car Communicator. This feature is active on days when it is at least 10°C outside. CZIP also does a great job of venting out allergy and asthma inducing substances. Together with the dust-minimising, easy-to-clean materials included in the CZIP package, it has been approved by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association.
    • Adjustable rear air vents
      • Air vents that are conveniently located in the door pillars at face level create a comfortable environment for rear seat passengers. They also keep ice and mist off the rear side windows, which makes for a safer journey.

    Storage

    • Front cupholders
      • The two cupholders for the driver and front seat passenger are hidden under an elegant roll-top cover and conveniently positioned in the tunnel console. To provide extra storage, the cupholders can be removed.
    • Front seat back storage pockets
      • Choose the Leksand or Leather upholstery and the front seat backs have convenient storage pockets built in for extra carrying space.
    • Storage, rear
      • In the back, there's a concealed 5-litre storage compartment by each outboard armrest.
  • Driver's support

    • Personal settings
      • Define your Volvo's convenience and security settings according to your personal preferences using this simple computer interface. Depending on which technologies you have, this is where you configure the audio and climate settings, navigation, communication, central locking, Approach and Home Safe lighting and the Intelligent Driver-Information System.
    • Trip computer
      • Operated via the indicator stalk, the trip computer shows current and average fuel consumption, how far the fuel will take you and average speed – helping you drive more economically.
    • Park Assist Pilot (PAP)
      • Take away the fuss of parallel parking and let your car park itself. At the press of a button, Park Assist Pilot scans the parking slot using ultrasonic sensor technology. PAP alerts you if the slot is spacious enough (minimum 1.2 x the length of the car). Then just line up your car in front of the parking lot, engage reverse gear and follow the instructions in the driver information display. You control the speed and direction of your car, while PAP takes over the steering until you're perfectly parked.
    • Rain sensor
      • Once activated, the rain sensor can start the windscreen wipers as soon as it begins to rain or if water splashes onto the windscreen. For your convenience, it can also automatically adapt the intermittent windscreen-wiper function and temporarily switch off the wipers while you’re driving through a tunnel. Its sensitivity can be adjusted via a ring on the wiper stalk.
    • Automatically dimmed inner rear-view mirror
      • Ending the need to take your hand off the steering wheel and stop headlight beams shining in your eyes, the anti-dazzle function is stepless and returns to normal when it's no longer needed. Also available with a built-in compass.
    • Illuminated vanity mirror
      • Fitted in the sun visor, lights come on when you open the vanity mirror cover – convenient and practical. Available for both the driver and front passenger.
    • Power windows, front and rear
      • The power windows have controls conveniently located in the door armrests. The front windows can be lowered or raised with a quick press or pull of a button, and you can lock the back windows from the driver’s seat if you’re travelling with small children. In this case, you’ll also be glad of the automatic anti-clamp protection, which will stop a window from closing on a trapped little hand.
    • Interior lighting (7 colours)
      • An entry light on both the driver and front passenger side lights the foot-well area upon entry into the car. Front reading lamps are nicely integrated in the roof console. Lighting in the rear seat also illuminates the luggage compartment. The interior light will fade out 25 seconds after the doors have been closed, but will switch off immediately if the ignition is turned on or the doors are locked.
    • Headlamp level adjuster
      • The headlamp level adjuster allows the driver to lower or raise the angle of the headlight beam by turning a dial on the instrument panel. This is particularly useful when driving at night with a full load. Only applies to halogen headlamps; Dual Xenon Active Bending Lights adjust automatically.

    Communication

    • Bluetooth® handsfree system, integrated
      • Want to access your mobile phone while you’re on the road to find an address, lay out a route in the navigation system and call ahead that you’re on your way? The on-board Bluetooth® technology lets you do all this wirelessly through the infotainment system – and play some music along the way. Once configured for a mobile phone, the system automatically recognises your phone as you enter the car. And as you get in and out of the car, the system automatically allows you to switch freely from the phone to the handsfree system and back again. The audio systems High Performance, High Performance Multi Media and Premium Sound Multi Media include an integrated Bluetooth® handsfree system, allowing you to operate your phone conveniently using the buttons on the steering wheel or the centre console keypad. Phone information is shown on the centre console multimedia display. And if you’ve chosen the RTI navigation system, you can make your calls using voice control. What’s more, you can stream high quality audio from a media player and listen to it through the car’s audio system. • Load compartment

    • Folding two-split 60/40 rear seat
      • The ergonomically designed rear seat provide generous support for the body during long journeys and flexibility when required. The outer rear seats are positioned towards the centre so passengers can enjoy more space and better views. A folding armrest, cupholders integrated in the centre seat cushion and extra storage at the outer seats further enhance convenience. And when a journey includes both cargo and passengers, just fold down part or all of the two-split rear seat to get a flat load floor combined with the two-level load compartment floor. What’s more, the rear seats only take one step to manoeuvre.
    • Net pocket, cargo compartment
      • Practical storage for small items along the left side panel in the load compartment. Not in combination with the two-level load compartment floor.
    • Load organiser, cargo compartment
      • This easily installed telescopic frame with floor rails and load holder makes it simple to secure and organise bags, gear and loose items. You can separate fragile objects from other cargo, and divide the cargo area in two if required. And if the organiser isn’t needed, it’s easy to remove and store.
  • Inside

    • Cabin filter
      • Preventing dust and pollen from entering the cabin via the ventilation system, the cabin filter is a real benefit to driver and passengers, especially those prone to hay fever or other allergies.

    • Start/Stop technology
      • To further reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 8% when driving in the city, all engines feature Volvo’s Start/Stop technology. Once the engine is warmed up and the car comes to a standstill (for example at a traffic light) where you put the gear in neutral and release the clutch, the engine automatically shuts off. And instantly as you press the clutch pedal, the engine restarts and you’re on the go. An extra battery ensures that all infotainment and comfort systems will function as usual even with the engine shut off. The Start/Stop system can be deactivated with a push of a button in the centre console and is active between 0° and 30° C.
    • LED daytime running lights
      • Automatically activated during daylight, these energy efficient LED lights make your car more conspicuous. And when the dipped headlights are needed for illumination, they are automatically engaged by a twilight sensor. What’s more, the spoiler integrated LED lights also add to the distinct styling of your Volvo.
