To celebrate the UK arrival of the new Volvo XC60, Volvo has teamed up with Gordon Ramsay's Taste of Christmas food event at Excel London from 4-7 December.

One of the world's most advanced wind tunnels is Volvo's new tool in the quest to lower fuel consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Volvo Car Corporation is the first car manufacturer to own a wind tunnel that fully simulates the airflow around and underneath the car's body, combined with wheel rotation on a flat road surface.

Volvo Car UK is enhancing its amateur golf programme with more players and more coverage this year by taking over the UK’s leading amateur tour, the Fore Tour, and rebranding as the Volvo Masters Amateur Tour as well as launching a major media partnership with The Daily Telegraph Golf Club.

Volvo's new City Safety system which helps avoid or reduce the severity of low-speed collisions has won the Technology category at the Fleet World Honours¹ Awards 2008 in London today, its first UK award.   City Safety will be introduced as a world-first standard feature in the new Volvo XC60, which arrives in UK showrooms this October.

The very first Volvo car left the factory on April 14, 1927. It was called the ÖV4 because the letters ÖV are Swedish for "Open Car" and 4 indicating the number of cylinders powering the new car.
