Volvo and the Environment

Environmental care has been one of Volvo Cars' commitments for about thirty years and their environmental programmes embrace a car's complete life cycle, from development to use of resources and emissions.

Volvo is ranked as a leader in terms of Environmental care among the world’s premium car brands.  Volvo Car Corporation’s environmental plan focuses on pollution prevention and continual improvement over the complete life cycle of the car and across all operations.  Consideration of potential environmental effects forms an early and integral part of the planning process.

Volvo has reduced the environmental impact of car manufacturing to a significant extent.  All new Volvo cars are designed to be 85% recyclable and designed for 95% recoverability.

By encouraging positive environmental action by young people, Volvo hopes to bring forward members of a new generation who are ready to think creatively to reduce the environmental impacts of our daily routines.

DRIVe Volvo Range

As part of Volvo’s commitment to the environment, they are proud to launch their DRIVe range of cars this year.  The DRIVe range is new economical versions of the C30 Sports Coupé, S40 saloon and the V50 Sportswagon.  These vehicles all have aerodynamic refinements enabling lower CO2 emissions, reduced fuel consumption, minimising the impact on our environment.
