Paul Goodison, MBE, is an Olympic gold medallist in the Laser class, world number 1 and four times European Laser Champion.
Paul went to the 2000 Sydney Olympics as Ben Ainslie’s training partner and vowed to represent Britain at the next Olympics. He achieved this in Athens 2004, narrowly missing out on a medal when he came fourth.
In 2008, Paul had overcome the heartache of finishing fourth and had a fantastic year, achieving his dream in Beijing when he won gold in the Laser class. On returning victorious, he went on to win BBC Sports personality of the North, Raymarine Yachtsman of the Year and had the honour of being awarded an MBE. He is now focused to achieve gold for Great Britain on home turf, at the 2012 Olympics.
