The Volvo RYA Keelboat Programme is an initiative set up to provide training, coaching and grants to a number of young talented sailors who in turn will be pivotal to future British keelboat projects. Any talented young sailors between the ages of 16-24 are eligible to participate in the programme. Once in the team, the sailors benefit from general and specific keelboat training, such as instrumentation, meteorology and sail tuning as well as being provided with professional coaching.

Crewsearch Programme
The Volvo RYA Keelboat Programme and the Volvo RYA Crewsearch Programme work together to match eligible sailors with owners who run viable yacht campaigns. The Crewsearch Programme differs from ordinary crew search schemes in that the RYA has assessed and rated all sailors on the register. Only those that show the level of commitment required and have reached a certain standard are invited to enrol.
Sailors are required to attend one of the RYA Keelboat Training Weekends for assessment before being put on the register.
