Unique functions - PCC

26880:30902|You can have one of two different key systems, the key and remote control 31033:33593|or the Personal Car Communicator. 38478:41404|The PCC has some really clever functions. 41769:45400|When you are in range and press the I-button the car communicates with you. 46315:48000|Green light means the car is locked. 48248:50703|The yellow light says it's unlocked. 51800:54439|This red light indicates the alarm has been triggered. 55144:58435|And if the red lights are flashing, there may be someone in the car!

Keyless drive (only PCC)

1960:5146|Any key system can be equipped for keyless drive. 5303:9091|You will appreciate this feature even before you enter the driver seat. 11808:15282|With the keyless drive all you have to do is approach the car. 17346:22831|With the remote in your pocket, the car recognize you when you enter a 1,5 meter radius. 25240:27899|And the doors unlock instantly when you pull the handle.

Steering wheel

1147:4296|The first thing you want to do is to adjust the steering wheel. 5080:9233|Just pull this lever and adjust the wheel up or down, in or out. 9546:14980|Then you will adjust your seats. This is a little different depending on what seats you have. 15084:18480|Please show me if you have a manual seat or a power seat.

Mechanical seat

0:2403|You have chosen the manual seats. 2821:8150|Adjustment is really simple. Just pull this bar to move it forward or backward. 10710:17867|Raise or lower the front of the seat by pulling up or pressing down on this and move the backrest with this. 18468:21289|Move the seat up or down with this handle. 23144:25704|The lumbar support is adjusted here.

Seat with memory function (option)

391:4257|You have chosen the optional power seats with three memory settings. 4680:11023|Adjustment is really simple. Just press this button to move the seat forward or backward. 12016:16509|Raise or lower the seat with this, and move the backrest with this. 17711:19931|Move the front of the seat cushion with this. 20880:24215|Store your setting by pressing the memory button and setting 1. 24737:28160|The lumbar support is adjusted here. That's it. 28360:32156|Now, this setting is activated every time this key and remote is used. 32444:35526|This means you can have individual settings for different keys. 36623:39784|It's really convenient if you share the car with someone else.

Starting the engine

22360:26253|With the keyless drive you can keep your key and remote in your pocket 26279:29753|and all you have to do is to press the brake and press the starter button quickly. 31346:34664|Starting is just slightly different if you don't have the keyless drive. 34977:40228|As you can see there is a slot beside the start button. That's where you insert the key, like this. 41743:45270|It unlocks the steering wheel and powers up the radio if it's on. 46184:49345|To remove the key you simply press it again and it ejects. 51435:54047|Start the engine by pressing the brake and the start button. 54935:58226|To stop the engine, just press the stop button until the engine stops.

High idle speed

549:2247|Listen to the high idle speed. 2691:8072|When you hear the engine revving at cold start it's a feature that makes the exhausts cleaner and less harmful. 8751:11860|This can go on for several minutes if it's really cold.

Driver's door control panel

1228:5773|You can lock all the doors including the trunk from the inside by pressing this button. 6452:12591|Unlock by pressing again. The power windows can be controlled from the driver side. 13505:18155|A full press or pull opens or close the window automatically all the way. 18991:21812|A gentle press or pull gives manual control.

Parking assistance (option)

1123:4963|The park assist makes parking easy, even I tight spots. 5486:9169|When the gear is in reverse you will hear a pulsing tone from the rear speakers, 9430:13505|indicating an obstruction within one point five meters behind the car. 14472:20558|When you back up the tone changes and 30 cm from the obstacle you hear a continuous tone.

Electronic climate control, ECC (option)

1802:6165|The climate can be controlled automatically by pressing the Auto button. 8568:12591|You can set the temperature individually for the driver side or the passenger side. 13976:17136|Just turn the knob on the side where you want to set the temperature. 18913:22727|To override the blower Auto setting, turn the blower knob. 23562:27063|Change the air distribution by pressing one of the buttons in the symbol. 27716:32392|The air quality button toggles between Recirculation, Auto or Off. 33724:37303|If you always leave the air conditioning on, it makes the air quality better 37381:40281|and it quickly removes condensation from the windows.

Rain sensor (option)

889:5227|It's a good idea to always activate the rain sensor when there is a risk for rain. 5773:7733|This way you don't have to bother with the wipers. 8673:13427|There is even a symbol in the main instrument for it. Makes it easy to see if it's on or off. 15595:19827|You might want to make an extra wipe now and then. Just flip the stalk upward. 20271:25104|But if you flip it downward you override the rain sensor and you have to activate it again.

Audio system

689:2910|The sound system in this car is impressive. 3693:9545|You have a Dolby Prologic II decoder for true surround effects from CD and MP3. 10381:14743|You can plug in your mp3 player in the auxiliary input and listen through the speakers. 15866:18680|The first time you might need to adjust the input volume. 19628:22520|Just press the Mode button and then turn the volume knob. 24252:28745|If you switch to the CD player or the radio, they can be controlled from the back seat. 30626:36477|From the back seat they can change tracks or stations, go fast forward or backward or seek stations. 39168:41675|Another smart feature is the Soundstage. 43060:48337|It is used to optimize the sound for the driver's seat, both front seats or the back seat. 53404:56513|The steering wheel buttons control the radio and CD. 56931:61398|With a short press on the forward button you change preset radio station or CD tracks. 62680:66727|Press and hold to fast forward the CD player or search for radio stations. 67380:70724|The Volume control is simple just up or down.

Clock and trip meter

Trip computer

888:6034|In the center of the displays you have information about fuel quantity and outside temperature. 6243:11493|This display is also used when setting the adaptive cruise control and using the trip computer. 13217:17240|You find the trip computer by turning the outer wheel on the left stalk. 19300:24999|There is one function that you might want to know more about, the distance to empty tank. 25749:30772|The distance is calculated from the average fuel consumption during the last 30 kilometers. 31000:35813|This means that if you start driving more aggressively it might not be totally accurate.

Storage compartment

1384:7418|Lets take a look at the convenient storage compartments. There is one beneath each front seat. 8933:15438|Then there's the CD storage in the center. You can actually fit 15 CD:s in there if you use it right. 17136:21159|Small objcets can be placed behind the centre stack, out of the way. 21725:26200|Then of course the side pockets, seat pockets and cup holders.

Electrical sockets

Automatic tailgate control (option)

15522:19121|The optional Power Operated Tailgate can be opened in three ways. 20219:22047|By pressing the button in the light panel. 22726:27716|By pressing the button on the key and remote or by pulling the tailgate handle. 30929:34690|The tailgate can be closed manually or by pressing the button on the rim.

Loading

1906:6295|At times you may want to transport long objects. It's easily done. 7079:9560|Just fold the backseats by pulling these handles. 11572:14288|You can fold the left and middle section separately. 18769:22129|The right backseat can only be folded together with the middle section.

Floor panel

1541:5172|Fold up the floor panel to reach the storage compartment underneath. 6844:9900|This is a good place for the warning triangle and a first aid kit.

Load fixation hooks

2325:8725|The load fixation hooks can be moved. Fold the hook, move it to the new position and fold it back. 8976:10318|It locks automatically.

Cargo cover

575:3860|Put the cargo cover with both ends in the holders on the sides. 4859:7105|Press the cover downward until it clicks in place. 9326:13610|Pull out the cargo cover and hook it into the recesses in the rear pillars.

Blind Spot Information System, BLIS (option)

683:6031|The Blind Spot Information System is an option that will help you to notice vehicles in the blind spot. 7038:16061|When someone enters the blind spot either from behind or when you owertake someone, you get a varning light here.

Direction indicators

914:7784|The direction indicators have a short flash option with three flashes if you move the stalk switch up or down one step. 8255:10109|This is perfect when overtaking.

Light controls

1714:5094|Turn the headlamp control clockwise to the end position for running lights. 6687:10162|Flash the main beam by moving the stalk gently towards the steering wheel. 11102:14655|In the lighting panel you can also adjust the height of the light beam. 15621:19226|Do this if the car is heavy loaded and the beam points too high.

Refuelling

2012:7106|When you fill petrol (gas) you will have to open the fuel cap cover from inside the car. 7244:8778|It's done right here. 9924:15204|There is also an indication in the main instrument showing that the fuel cap is located on the right side of the car.

PACOS

1542:5356|To use a child seat in the front seat, you MUST deactivate the passenger airbag. 7054:9953|To do this, open the door and turn the switch to OFF. 11913:16878|A text message in the overhead consol will be shown that indicates that the airbag is deactivated.

Integrated two-stage booster cushions (option)

1715:4771|When your children has grown out of the rear facing child seat 4849:8872|they should use the optional 2-Stage Booster Cushion in the backseat. 9525:13209|The Booster Cushion can be adjusted in two heights to accommodate children 13287:20732|between 95 and 120 cm tall and between 115 and 140 cm tall. 20915:27080|To set level one, pull the handle forward and up. Press the cushion backward to lock. 27263:32487|To set level two you must start from level one. Press the button and lift the cushion up. 32905:39723|Press it backward to lock. Note that you can not shift from level two to level one. 41839:45339|To fold down, pull the handle forward and press down.

Leather care

2143:7315|Over time the protective surface on leather upholstery may be dissolved by grease and dirt. 7681:13289|It is a good advice to use Volvos recommended leather cleaning products to regain the leathers protective layer.

Paint care
