The Volvo S60 is the only European brand vehicle to earn the Top Safety Pick Plus award, for it's high marks in front, side, roof strength and rear crash protection, in addition to earning the top rating of Good in the new Small Overlap Frontal Crash Test.

USAA Preferred Best Value Midsize Luxury Sedan

Noting that it’s the least expensive model to insure in the category, leading financial services firm USAA named the 2012 Volvo S60 the Best Value Midsize Luxury Sedan. We couldn’t agree more.

5-Star Crash Test Rating

The 2012 Volvo S60 earned 5-Stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in all crash tests and positions tested, including rollover. Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of the NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program (www.safercar.gov).

International Car of the Year (ICOTY)

At the New York International Auto Show, the International Car of the Year (ICOTY) jury awarded the All-New Volvo S60 the International Sedan of the Year award and deemed it “Most Dependable”.

Ward’s 10 Best Interiors Award

Calling out its “beautifully angular door panels to the floating center stack” and declaring its head restraints a sexy safety device, the reviewers at Ward’s have included the Volvo S60 in their list of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors.

Vincentric’s 2011 Best Value in America

A first time winner in 2011, the All-New Volvo S60 won Vincentric's 2011 Best Value in America award for its better-than-average maintenance and repair costs, strong fuel economy, and low insurance costs.

Automobile magazine All-Star Award

Each year, the editorial staff of Automobile magazine choose only ten vehicles for their annual All-Star award. Not surprisingly, the All-New Volvo S60 is one of the recipients of this prestigious award.

Ward’s 10 Best Engines

The All-New Volvo S60 sets new standards in performance once again by becoming the first Volvo to receive a Ward’s 10 Best Engines award for its 300hp T6 turbocharged engine.

NBC The Today Show

Noting that “a lot of cars” are not passing the new IIHS Small Overlap Crash test, the Today Show is also quick to point out that the Volvo S60 is one of only two luxury vehicles to receive a top rating of Good.

ABC Good Morning America

According to the IIHS, only three of 11 midsize luxury and near-luxury cars earned good or acceptable ratings in the new small overlap frontal crash test. The Volvo S60 is one of only two models tested to receive the top rating of Good, as seen on ABC's GMA. 

"The Best Volvo Ever"

Always nice to see someone else call the Volvo S60 T5 a “serious contender.” Motor Trend dubbed the S60 “the Swede Surprise” after knocking out a serious contender of its own: Mercedes.

Named the “Swedish Cinderella” in Motor Trend’s Sporty Luxury Sedan Comparison, the Volvo S60 T5 came out ahead of six other competitors, including Lexus, Audi and Mercedes.

Hopping into the driver’s seat of the 2012 Volvo S60 T6 R-Design, CarandDriver.com pushed the limits of the 325hp engine and found that this new, sportier Volvo “finds itself in very good company—high-performance company.”

After taking the Volvo S60 T6 R-Design around the “sports car” roads just north of Napa, The Auto Channel reviewer decreed that the “The R-Design ran quickly, smoothly, and comfortably in all climate and road conditions…”

Giving rave reviews to the first S60 iteration, the reviewers at Popular Mechanics had this to say about the updated T6 R-Design: “The S60 R-Design is a well-priced and capable sports sedan that should lure skeptical buyers to the Volvo brand.”

The reviewers of Wired magazine took the All-New Volvo S60 for a spin, calling it “a technological marvel equally adept at hauling kids and hauling a**.”

The New York Times’ Top 10 Cars  

James G. Cobb selected the All-New Volvo S60 as one of his Top 10 Cars of 2010, even going so far as to call it, “…the most exciting, endearing Volvo I’ve driven.”  

Winding Road 

With their article, “Quiet Confidence”, Winding Road magazine takes you inside the design of the All-New Volvo S60, calling the S60 “an easy car to love” and “a new car that is sexier than the old”. We whole-heartedly agree.

When we brought the All-New Volvo S60 to the motor city, The Detroit Bureau’s automotive reviewer was blown away by the performance, handling and of course, the sleek new lines.
