5-Star Crash Test Rating The 2012 Volvo S60 earned 5-Stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in all crash tests and positions tested, including rollover. Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of the NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program (www.safercar.gov).
