What's the alternatives?
For millions of years the earth has been storing carbon dioxide in the form of fossil fuels. When these fuels are burned carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere. Although it's not a poisonous gas, scientists believe that such it intensifies the green house effect and contributes to the rising temperature of the earth's atmosphere – with far reaching consequences for the natural world. To help slow this process down we need to reduce our rate of fossil fuel consumption, and then find alternative fuels to the earth's natural reserves.
