All-New XC40: Built for the City

The All-New Volvo XC40 is set to make a big impact in the small premium SUV category when it goes on sale in Australia in 2018.

Volvo designers were given the freedom to create a car with vibrancy, individuality and playfulness for the company's first compact SUV. The striking result is the XC40.

The All-New Volvo XC40 will take expressive design, ground-breaking infotainment, award-winning safety technology and a radical approach to interior storage into the small premium SUV class.

The All-New XC40 joins the All-New XC60 and XC90 to further expand the company’s line-up in the world’s fastest-growing segment of SUVs.

The first model to sit on Volvo’s Compact Modular Architecture has been designed around the challenges of modern city life – to make the daily urban commute less stressful and more enjoyable.

Infotainment and safety technologies have been introduced from the company’s 90- and 60-series vehicles. Features including Pilot Assist, Run-off Road Protection, Cross Traffic Alert and a 360-degree-view camera will all be available with the All-New XC40.

The All-New XC40 will offer the broadest and most playful colour palette yet available for a Volvo – inside and out. New distinctive trims and materials complement the interior’s truly youthful and premium feel.

And through Volvo’s intensive study of how city dwellers use their car every day – and especially how they store their belongings in their cars – the XC40 adopts an innovative, class-leading approach to the interior’s space and all-round functionality.

The All-New Volvo XC40 is the first of a new-generation range of 40-series vehicles, and will also be the first to utilise Volvo’s new three-cylinder Drive-E powertrain.
