XC60 judged Best Value Premium SUV by Wheels
The Volvo XC60 D4 Momentum has won its category in leading car magazine’s ownership-costs-based Best Value Cars award program.
The Volvo XC60 D4 Momentum has been judged the Best Value Premium SUV by Australia’s preeminent car magazine, Wheels.
Volvo’s highly acclaimed mid-sized luxury SUV took first place in the Premium SUV category of Wheels magazine’s 2019 Gold Star Awards, finishing ahead of key rivals from Germany.
The Gold Star Awards focus on “cracking value” by looking at the costs of ownership for vehicles, using data such as depreciation, fuel figures and insurance costs to calculate its winners.
Central to the XC60 D4 Momentum’s award were the lowest comprehensive insurance quote of the group and the Volvo’s “frugal” turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that uses just 5.4 litres of fuel per 100km on the official cycle.
“A close fight, but a sensible win for Sweden,” summarised Wheels magazine.
The magazine also selected the XC60 T5 Momentum as a Wheels’ pick for buyers who may not want diesel power.
The highly acclaimed Volvo XC60 is available in three trim grades – Momentum, Inscription and R-Design – with a choice of powerful yet efficient drivetrains depending on variant.
The 2019 Gold Star Awards were published in the May 2019 edition of Wheels.
The XC60’s Gold Star Award continues an impressive run for Volvo SUVs in Australia’s leading car magazine.
The Volvo XC60 won Wheels Car of the Year in 2018 before the company’s compact luxury SUV, the XC40, secured the 2019 award to create unprecedented back-to-back success for a premium brand.
