Polestar voted Red Dot Brand of the Year
Electric performance brand Polestar has been recognised with several awards from the internationally renowned Red Dot organisation, including Brand of the Year.
Polestar has been recognised as Brand of the Year by Red Dot in the internationally renowned contest’s Brands & Communication category.
The Swedish electric performance brand – part of the Volvo Group – has been judged as a whole and assessed on how the brand experience delivers on what it intends to be.
Red Dot’s 24 international experts evaluated nearly 7000 entries from designers, agencies and companies spanning 50 countries – using the motto, “In search of good design and creativity”.
Polestar was awarded “Red Dot: Brand of the Year”, the highest distinction in the Brands section – acknowledged for succeeding in portraying a consistent brand image across various channels in its communication.
“Introducing a new brand in the already saturated automotive market is no mean feat,” said Professor Michel de Boer, Red Dot juror and creative director at De Boer & Wang Studio.

“Polestar was able to convince us that the brand did not emerge overnight. The brand presence is cool, electrifying and designed with long-lasting style. That’s very fitting for a subsidiary of Volvo as a brand rooted in northern Europe.
“Polestar is simple yet rich in subtle details. The clear brand message and the purity of the design is what ultimately prompted us as the jury to name it Red Dot: Brand of the Year.”
Polestar has to date launched two GT models, the Polestar 1 hybrid and the Polestar 2 pure electric performance car.
“It’s an honour to be named Brand of the Year by Red Dot,” said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath. “Design is at the core of Polestar, in each and every aspect of the brand, and it deserves our full attention in order to fulfil our promise of pure and progressive design.”
In addition to the main prize, Polestar has also been named Best of the Best for its consistency in design quality and creative performance. And, for the Polestar 2 design book which the brand produced in 2019, Polestar receives a Red Dot for creativity and good craftsmanship.
