Bluetooth® and Sensus
Sensus offers Bluetooth®, which makes it possible to establish wireless connections between your Volvo and other Bluetooth® devices (e.g. mobile phones and tablets). When you are connected, you can manage phone functions, stream music and connect to the InternetApplies to Sensus Connect. via Sensus.
There are two possible ways of connecting devices, either search for the external device from the car, or search for the car from the external device. For more information, see Pair a Bluetooth® device with your Volvo and Pair your Volvo with a Bluetooth® device.
Connect several Bluetooth® devices
10 (Sensus) to 15 (Sensus Connect) Bluetooth® devices can be connected to your Volvo. Once paired, you can have two devices connected at the same time and switch between these devices. For more information, see Switch to another Bluetooth® device.
Once you connect a Bluetooth® device to your Volvo a number of different features are available:
- Hands-free mobile phone operation
- Option of switching calls between handsfree and mobile phone
- Phonebook download or mirrored (see Transfer a phone book to your Volvo)
- Audio streaming from the connected device
- Connection to the Internet(See Sensus Connect).
Applies to Sensus Connect.
For details on how to use these functions, see the Owner’s manual and/or the Sensus supplement.
Only certain mobile phones are fully compatible with the hands-free function. For more information on compatible mobile phones, see Phones and Bluetooth compatibility. For further assistance, contact your Volvo dealer or Volvo Cars customer service.
For calls and/or audio streaming via tethering from mobile phone to car via Bluetooth®, it is recommended not to use mobile phones that are manufactured earlier than 2008, since the audio quality may deteriorate.
