TuneIn is an Internet radio service which can be used in cars equipped with Sensus Connect. TuneIn offers more than 100,000 global live radio stations from all continents and more than two million on-demand programmes (e.g. podcasts, shows and interviews).

Find Fuel

The Find Fuel app allows you to find petrol stations near to your car while you drive. Find Fuel can only be used if the car is equipped with both Sensus Connect and Sensus Navigation.

Updated centre display

With the Sensus Connect upgrade, available from May 2017, the centre display in your Volvo has been given a new and intuitive appearance. Navigation, the media player, home view and settings have all been updated. Buttons used frequently have been emphasised to enhance clarity.

News

A few examples of changes made to the centre display are listed below.

    Home view

    Home view now has a new appearance, and settings have been redesigned to facilitate navigation in views and menus. Some settings have been moved from the top view to the relevant apps or functions.

    Buttons and text have been made larger, and app icons have been given new colours to enhance clarity and access. An icon in the form of a globe has been added at the top left-hand corner to indicate whether the car is connected to the Internet.

    The options have been grouped together in settings view in order to provide a better overview, potentially making it easier to find the settings you are looking for.

    Navigation

    The buttons in navigation view have been moved to the left-hand side so that you can see more of the map. You can access the settings by expanding the settings view. Functions used frequently have been emphasised, e.g. Enter destination and Cancel route description.

    The radio functions in the centre display have been updated so that when you search for radio stations, you can fine-tune your settings manually in order to locate the preferred signal strength.

    Reversing camera settings

    The reversing camera can help you to keep more of an eye on the area behind your car while you reverse. The reversing camera has always returned to normal view previously, but after the update your last setting will remain active the next time you start the reversing camera.

    The reversing camera can help you to keep more of an eye on the area behind you.

    For example, if you prefer to use the 360-degree view from your reversing camera, you can select that setting directly in camera view mode. This setting will then continue to apply the next time you use the reversing camera. You want to switch to reversing camera view, press the screen to enable the icons and then select the reversing camera. This allows you to switch between the different camera views, depending on the type of situation.

    360-degree view allows you to see more of what is going on around your car.

To be able to use certain connected services and apps in the car, you must choose yourself to activate data sharing for them.

    Frequently asked questions and answers concerning updates from the car

    In an online connected car it is possible to update several of the car's systems directly from the centre display.

    Updated appearance of warning messages for Pilot Assist, cruise control, adaptive cruise control and speed limiter

    With the software update released in May 2018, the appearance of certain warning messages has been updated for the following functions, Pilot Assist, cruise control (CC), adaptive cruise control (ACC) and speed limiter(SL).

    Local Search

    Disconnect a Bluetooth device from your Volvo

    A Bluetooth device can be disconnected from your Volvo. Once this has been done, the device will no longer be connected to your car.

    WikiLocations

    The WikiLocations app allows you to read Wikipedia articles related to your car's position and destination. WikiLocations can only be used if the car is equipped with both Sensus Connect and Sensus Navigation.

    Rdio is discontinued

    The Rdio app is no longer available from the supplier.

    Connect to the Internet via mobile phone (Bluetooth)

    If your Volvo is equipped with Sensus Connect, it is possible to create an Internet connection via your mobile phone. For this to work, your mobile phone needs to be equipped with Bluetooth® and support tethering.

    Send destination to the car via Send to Car

    Send to Car allows you to send map destinations to your Volvo. You can send destinations from your browser in a computer or via the Volvo On Call app. To use this function, your car must be equipped with Sensus Connect and Sensus Navigation, and there must be a Volvo ID registered to the car. To use the function via the Volvo On Call app, your car also has to be equipped with Volvo On Call.

    Use voice control

    Voice control allows you to voice-activate certain functions in the multimedia system, in the radio, in a Bluetooth®-connected mobile phone or in Volvo's navigation system.
