Day Trip
Tasmania - Tamar Valley

Relax and reflect in Tamar Valley
Trip Highlights
When you head north for the Tamar Valley, a stop in Richmond is a must. Only a stone’s throw across the Derwent, the small, old town is best known for its stone bridge – the oldest bridge in Australia. But there’s plenty else to see. Grab a coffee from one of the cafes or browse collectibles in one of the antiques stores, before continuing north. When you get to Launceston, pop in and say hello to the husband and wife duo that run Holm Oak vineyards. Winemaker Rebecca Duffy and her viticulturalist husband, Tim, know everything there is to know about good grapes. And when you’re ready to call it a night, check in at the luxurious rooms at The Granary in Richmond Hill. Made from sandstone brick, the building tells a story and provides the perfect base for a weekend of exploration around the rest of Tamar Valley.
