Yorke Peninsula

Weekend Trip

South Australia - Yorke Peninsula

Yorke Peninsula

Traverse your way to the white shores of Yorke Peninsula

If the colour of the water and the sand is anything to go by, you’d think the Yorke Peninsula was part of the tropics. Coastal towns like Marion Bay and Inglenook beckon people up from Adelaide for a quick day trip or weekend away where they can pass the day away lounging on the sand. Our Yorke Peninsula roadtrip is an idyllic drive filled with stretches of coastline to explore, with every small town a chance to meet lovely, welcoming locals. Get away and get some space – all while listening to the cool water from the Southern Ocean lap against the shore.

Trip Highlights

Just because you’ve left the city, doesn’t mean you’ll be compromising on taste. The Bond St. Wallaroo has a spectacular restaurant that offers oysters and charcuterie boards in the stunning, heritage building the family have converted into a distillery. Browse the shelves for a bottle of gin as a gift or take your food to go and wander Wallaroo’s foreshore. When you’re ready to call it a night, check into the lovely lodgings at Inglenook Cottage. Tastefully decorated, the luxurious claw foot bath is a real standout. Overall, this cottage feels homely, but with just the right amount of grandeur. It’s the perfect place to let your worries wash away and reset.
