Remote starting climate control using the Volvo Cars app

You can use the Volvo Cars app to remote-start the climate control in order to adjust passenger compartment temperature prior to departure.

Climate function for electric car

The climate control is started from the climate function in the tab and runs for 30 minutes.

Climate function for plug-in hybrid

You can start the climate control immediately or specify a time when the car will be used. In the latter case, the climate control starts automatically in order to adjust the passenger compartment's temperature prior to departure.

When the car is connected to the mains power circuit

Start the climate control from the climate function in the tab. For cars in category A the climate control runs for 50 minutes, and for cars in categories B and C it runs for 30 minutes.See the description of the different categories in the table further down.

When the car is not connected to the mains power circuit

Start the climate control from the climate function in the tab. Enter for how long you plan to travel. When 30 or 50 minutes is selectedOnly available for cars equipped with fuel heater., only the climate control starts. When 1-15 minutes is selected, there is also the option to remote start the car's engine for the car to reach comfort temperature more quickly. Setting the timer for climate control

A timer can be set so that the climate control starts automatically in order to adjust the passenger compartment's temperature prior to departure.

  • Category ASee the description of the different categories in the table further down.: It is possible to set two timers within the coming 24 hours.
  • Category BSee the description of the different categories in the table further down.: There is the option to set up to 8 different timers. Each timer can be set by selecting time, date, day of the week, as well as whether the setting should be repeated weekly.

Other climate settings

Climate function for car with internal combustion engine

If the car is equipped with the climate package*, you can start the climate control immediately or specify a time when the car will be used. In the latter case, the climate control starts automatically in order to heat the passenger compartment prior to departure.

Direct-starting climate control

Start the climate control from the climate function in the tab.

For cars with automatic transmission, there is the option to specify for how long you plan to travel. Cars in category A can select 1-50 minutes, and cars in categories B and C 1-30 minutes.See the description of the different categories in the table further down. When 30 or 50 minutes are selected, only the climate control starts in order to heat the passenger compartment.
