Using Apple®CarPlay®

By connecting an iOS device to your car you can, amongst other things, listen to music, make calls, send and receive messages, as well as use selected apps. The functions can also be voice-controlled using Siri.

CarPlay®

CarPlay makes it possible to control many of the functions available in your iOS device via the car's centre display. Here you can read about CarPlay and what you should know before you start using the function.

CarPlay

With CarPlayApple, CarPlay, iPhone, Siri, iOS and iPhone are registered trademarks of Apple Inc. you can, amongst other things, listen to music, make calls, send and receive messages, as well as using selected apps. The functions can also be voice-controlled using Siri. CarPlay works with selected iOS devices.

Internet connection when using CarPlay

If your iOS device is connected to the car via BluetoothDoes not apply when connecting via Wi-Fi or car modem (P-SIM), the connection will be interrupted when CarPlay is used. Resume the Internet connection in your car by sharing the Internet via the Wi-Fi hotspot from your device, see the instructions below.

Instructions

In your iOS device: Select settings > Tethering > Activate function.

In your car: Select Settings > Communication > Wi-Fi > Activate the function. For more information, see Connect to the Internet via your mobile phone (WiFi).

The car searches for your device's shared Wi-Fi hotspot and connects to the Internet.

Note that the iOS device closes the personal hotspot after contact with the car has been interrupted. For reactivate tethering, follow step 1 above.

Note

Data is transferred (data traffic) when using the Internet, and this may involve a cost. Contact your network operator about data traffic costs.

Compatible devices

  • CarPlay is available for iPhone 5 or later. Update your phone with the latest iOS operating system for improved functionality.
  • CarPlay is not compatible with iPad.
