Tips for using Apple®CarPlay®

Using Apple®CarPlay®

By connecting an iOS device to your car you can, amongst other things, listen to music, make calls, send and receive messages, as well as use selected apps. The functions can also be voice-controlled using Siri.

Glympse

Glympse

You can use the Glympse app to share your position with others so that they can find out where you are going and when you are expected to arrive there. Glympse can only be used if the car is equipped with both Sensus Connect and Sensus Navigation.

The Glympse app

Glympse allows you to share any location or destination with others. The recipient may receive a link where they can view information on either a computer or a mobile phone. If the recipient has the Glympse app, the information can be shown in this. For the recipient to be able to see who is sending a Glympse, you should give your Glympse a name.

Using Glympse

Glympse is a free service and you do not need an account to use the service.

You can send Glympse to telephone numbers that can receive text messages. Note that a data usage cost may be incurred, depending on your subscription. Contact your Internet service provider for more information.

You do not need to include your destination when you send a Glympse, but if you do not the recipient will not be able to see which route you are taking or view your estimated arrival time.

Use the steering wheel knob for safer use of the app while you drive.

Change Glympse

It is not possible to make changes once you have sent a Glympse. If you want to update your position or destination you have to send a new Glympse.

To delete a previous recipient from the list of recipients or change your sender name, you have to restore the app to its original settings.

Tips for using Glympse

If you experience problems with Glympse, make sure you have an Internet connection and good signal strength. For information on how to set the Internet connection in your Volvo, see Connect to the Internet via mobile phone (Bluetooth) or Connect to the Internet via mobile phone (Wi-Fi).

Available selection of apps may vary depending on the market and on whether the services are supported by Volvo's third party suppliers. One or more apps may not be available on the market in which the car is sold or used.
