Getting started with Volvo On Call with Sensus Connect

Volvo On Call is an integrated assistance system with an app that enables you to control your Volvo remotely. This article describes how to get started with Volvo On Call and the Volvo On Call app.

Before collecting your Volvo On Call vehicle

Volvo On Call with Sensus Connect is a factory option when you purchase a new Volvo. Before collecting your new Volvo with Volvo On Call from your dealer, it is best to have downloaded the Volvo On Call appApplies to model year 2012 or onwards. and tested it in demo mode. The demo version allows you to examine most functions and provides you with information on how to use the app. The app can be downloaded for free from Apple AppStore, Google Play or Windows Phone Store.

Activate Volvo On Call

Before you collect your new Volvo, the dealer activates Volvo On Call. At the same time, a PIN code for Volvo On Call is automatically generated and sent to you. The PIN code is used for security reasons to identify you as the owner of your Volvo (or another approved person, such as a family member) and can work as a car key. Create a Volvo ID and connect the Volvo On Call app to your Volvo

To use Volvo On Call with Sensus Connect you need a Volvo ID. If you do not already have one, you need to create one, see Creating and registering a Volvo ID . After you have created a Volvo ID you must connect the Volvo On Call with Sensus Connect app to your vehicle, see Connect the Volvo On Call with Sensus Connect app to your Volvo.

When purchasing a pre-owned Volvo with Volvo On Call

If you have purchased a pre-owned Volvo with Volvo On Call, it is important to delete the data from the previous owner and add you own details for the service to work. Visit an authorized Volvo dealer for assistance. For further information, see Volvo On Call with Sensus Connect - change of owner.

In order to use the Volvo On Call app, the following is required:

  • Your Volvo is of model year 2012 or later and is equipped with Volvo On Call.
  • You have a valid Volvo On Call subscription.
  • Your Volvo has a valid Volvo On Call subscription. If you are uncertain that you or your Volvo has a valid Volvo On Call subscription, visit your nearest authorized Volvo dealer.
