Volvo ID

Volvo ID is a personal ID that gives access to a wide range of personal Volvo services.

The article applies for the following models: XC90 from model year 2016 to model year 2019, S90 and V90 from model year 2017 to model year 2019, XC40 and XC60 from model year 2018 to model year 2019, and S60 and V60 of model year 2019. Volvo ID

Volvo ID is a personal login that consists of a user name (email address/cell phone number) and a password. Your Volvo ID is used to log in to certain services from Volvo (read more below). For more information on how to create a Volvo ID, see Create and register a Volvo ID .


The available services can vary over time and depend on equipment level and market.

Examples of services

The list below describes some of the online services that require a Volvo ID. The services apply to vehicles equipped with Sensus Connect.


Starting in February 2020, it will no longer be possible to send map destinations from websites to the vehicle.
  • Send to Car – With the "Send to Car" service, you can send an address from a map service via the Volvo Cars app. To use the function, you need the vehicle identification number (VIN) or a Volvo ID. For more information, see Send to Car.
  • Volvo ID is used when you log into your Volvo Cars-app1*.

Why a Volvo ID?

A Volvo ID consists of a username and a password and it gives you access to Volvo's different services.


When you change your user name/password for a service (e.g. Volvo On Call), it will also be automatically changed for other services.

  • S90, V90 and V90 Cross Country of model years 2017 to 2021.

  • XC60, XC60 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid, V90 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid and S90 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid of model years 2018 to 2021.

  • XC40 from model year 2018 onward.

  • XC40 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid, V60, V60 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid, V60 Cross Country, S60, S60 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid of model years 2019 to 2022.
