Getting started with connected services
Some preparations are needed before using connected services.

Exploring the Volvo Cars app
Before you pick up your new vehicle from your retailer, we recommend that you download the free Volvo Cars app1 and test it in demo mode. Demo mode gives the driver the chance to explore most of the functions and learn how the app is used.

Activation of connected services
The retailer will activate connected services when the vehicle is picked up and the owner will receive an automatically generated PIN code for the system. The PIN code is used for security reasons to identify the owner (or another authorized person such as a family member) and works as a vehicle key.
Volvo ID and connecting the Volvo Cars app to the vehicle
You need a Volvo ID to use the Volvo Cars app. If you do not already have one, you need to create one. See Create and register a Volvo ID . After you have created a Volvo ID you must connect the Volvo Cars with Sensus Connect app to your vehicle, see Connecting the Volvo Cars app to the vehicle.

Buying a pre-owned Volvo with connected services
If you have purchased a pre-owned vehicle with connected services, it is important to delete the data from the previous owner and add your own details for the service to work.
