Privacy and data sharing

Many connected services and apps need to be able to send and receive information and data. The data sharing function for your connected services and apps is deactivated as defaultDoes not apply to the Volvo On Call option in markets where Volvo On Call is available.. To use certain connected services and apps in the vehicle, you must manually activate data sharing for them.

Privacy and data sharing settings for connected services and downloaded apps were introduced with the software update released in November 2017. These settings can be found under Privacy and data in the settings menu in the vehicle's center display.

With the data sharing settings, you can choose which of your connected services will be permitted to share data and you can also activate data sharing for downloaded apps. Note that services and apps cannot be used as intended if the data sharing function is deactivated for them.

After a factory reset or, e.g., a workshop visit or software update, the data sharing settings may have been reset to their default settings. You may need to reactivate data sharing for your connected services and downloaded apps.

You can set Data sharing for services and apps via the settings menu or when you start them in your center display.

S90, V90 and V90 Cross Country of model year 2017 and later with installed or updated software available from November 2017 onwards

XC60, XC60 Twin Engine and S90 Twin Engine of model year 2018 and later with installed or updated software available from November 2017 onwards

XC40, V60, V60 Cross Country, S60 and S60 Twin Engine of model year 2019 onwards
