Handle cargo cover

The cargo cover provides an easy way to keep prying eyes from looking into your cargo area. Information on how to use the cargo cover can be found here.

Insert the other end piece in the side panel on the opposite side.
Press the end piece down on each side – one at a time.
When you hear a click and the red marking on each end piece is no longer visible, the cargo cover is in place – check to ensure it is properly engaged.

Fold down the front panel of the cargo cover to eliminate the space between the cargo cover and the rear seat backrest.

If a safety net1 is used, the front panel should rest up on the cassette.

 Note

We recommend that you consult the Owner's Manual for your vehicle model for more information and any important warnings.

Use

The cargo cover can be closed in two positions – a fully extended position and a loading position, where it is only partially closed to enable you to reach further into the cargo area more easily.

Fully extended position

Grasp the handle and pull out the cargo cover so that it runs along the top of the side panels in the cargo area. Pull it to its end position.

The cargo cover is locked in the fully extended position.

Loading position

From fully extended position:

Grasp the handle and pull it rearwards until it stops.
Angle the cover downwards.
Carefully move the cover and its retaining pins forwards and upwards over the catches.
The cover will retract until it stops in the loading position.
To return to the fully extended position from the loading position:
Grasp the handle and pull the cargo cover to its end position.
Release the handle so that the retaining pins engage in the catches.
The cover is locked in the fully extended position.

With the automatic cargo cover,2the cover will be retracted from the fully extended position to the loading position each time the tailgate is opened, and is extended again when the tailgate is closed. The cargo cover can detect whether anything is preventing it moving and can automatically move back to full cover mode in this case.

 Note

The cargo cover may not operate automatically at low temperatures in the passenger compartment.

 Important

Do not load objects on top of the cargo cover.

Pay attention to the risk of crushing when opening and closing with the automatic cargo cover1.

If the cargo area is loaded with a bulky load then the automatic cargo cover is moved to retracted position in order to avoid it making contact with the load.

Retracting

From fully extended position:

Lift up the handle and pull it rearwards so that the cargo cover retaining pins are released from the grooves. Then release.

From the loading position:

Grasp the handle, pull the cargo cover out of the grooves, and then pull it to the fully extended position. Lift up the handle and pull it rearwards so that the retaining pins are released from the grooves. Then release.

Guide the cover and its retaining pins back over top of the side panels until it stops in the retracted position.

Bear in mind that a retracted cargo cover may obstruct the view rearwards.

Removing

In retracted position:
Press in the button on one of the end pieces of the retracted cargo cover and lift out the end.
Carefully angle the cover upwards/outwards.
The other end piece will then detach automatically so the cover can be lifted out of the cargo area.
