Map download program
Map downloads are managed through a program installed on your computer. This program lets you download large map files and resume the download if it’s interrupted.
Sensus Navigation 2014
Maps are updated in two steps: first, you download the map data to a USB memory, and then you transfer it from the USB memory to the car.

The map must be downloaded to an empty USB memory (32GB) with FAT32 formatting.
If you don’t have a USB memory at hand, you can download the map to your computer first and copy the files to an empty USB memory later.

Note
- The time it takes to transfer the map data from the USB memory to the car depends on the size of the data.
- The update can be performed while driving. If the installation isn’t complete when the car is turned off, it will resume automatically the next time you drive.
- The navigation system can be used when updating a map region. If you're updating an entire map market (e.g., the EU), the navigation system cannot be used during the update.
- The map update will pause if the infotainment system is turned off or if the USB memory is removed before the update finishes. The update will automatically resume when the system is turned back on or the USB memory is reinserted.
- Wait a moment before turning off the car or removing the USB memory after the transfer is complete. This is to ensure that the map is installed correctly.
- If a map hasn't been installed correctly, try installing a smaller map from another country (e.g., Israel) first, then reinstall the required map.
If there are any problems with the map update, contact Volvo support or your Volvo dealer.

Maps are updated in two steps: first, you download the map data to a USB memory, and then you transfer it from the USB memory to the car.

The required capacity of your USB memory depends on the map size. The full map for China and Europe requires an empty USB memory with 128 GB of storage. Other map regions may require less space. You'll see the map size when you navigate to the map downloads page, as described in the instructions below.
The USB memory needs to have one of the following formats: FAT32, NTFS or exFAT.
If you don’t have a USB memory at hand, you can download the map to your computer first and copy the files to an empty USB memory later.

Note
For the installation to start, the following criteria must be met:
- Selected area is included on the system's map. It's only possible to download the Scandinavia area if the system already has a Europe map. If you download a whole new map then the previous map is overwritten.
- The version for the selected area is later than the one in the car.
- Selected area is compatible with the car's software. If the update is not compatible then new software will need to be downloaded.
- Selected area is compatible with the existing map. If the area is not compatible then the map will need to be replaced.
- If there are two USB inputs, the second one must not be used at the same time.
If there are any problems with the map update, contact Volvo support or your Volvo dealer.
