Light up your world
The LED headlights of the S90 give you the best possible view at night and the T-shaped light signatures create a strong identity. LED Illumination headlights prevent you dazzling other road users by automatically switching between dipped and full beam. Range-topping Full-LED Active High Beam Illumination technology adapts the light pattern on full beam to give you the best coverage. It also includes Active Bending Lights that turn in the same direction as the steering wheel (up to 30˚ in either direction), for a better view through corners. -

Easy interaction with the car’s main controls and infotainment makes every journey in the S90 a pleasure. The digital driver display puts important information directly in front of you, and automatically adjusts brightness to the surrounding light conditions to reduce strain on the eyes. An optional head-up display projects information onto the windscreen, so there’s no need to take your eyes off the road. Our range-topping Bowers & Wilkins sound system delivers peerless clarity and precision. It features a unique subwoofer made partly from carbon fibre that draws air in from outside the car to create deep, resonant bass. A rearward-facing tweeter mounted on the dash cuts down on acoustic reflections from the windscreen.
Three different room modes allow you to tailor the sound to your music or mood. Stainless steel speaker grilles and Bowers & Wilkins yellow speaker cones make this a system that looks as good as it sounds.

With Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, connecting your smartphone to the S90 is quick and easy. Just plug it in and the central touch screen becomes an extension of your smartphone. Your phone is charged while plugged in to the USB port and you can still see the car’s other functions on the touch screen because Apple CarPlay and Android Auto only use the lower half of the display. -

Help with your drive
Pilot Assist can reduce the effort required when driving in heavy traffic. It helps to keep your car at a set speed and distance to the vehicle in front, and uses steering inputs to keep you in the centre of your lane. Pilot Assist lets you know it’s working with a gentle vibration through the steering wheel. It can be operated at speeds up to 130km/h, so it’s especially helpful on faster roads. The Curve Speed Adaptation function uses map data to read bends in the road and adjust your speed and steering input.![]()

A better view, all round
With 360˚ Camera, four cameras create a bird’s eye view of your car’s surroundings to help make parking easier. Available at speeds up to 10km/h, the virtual image of the car appears on the centre touch screen, and is particularly useful in tight spaces where you can’t see clearly what’s around you.The guide to perfect parking
Park Assist Pilot makes parking effortless, every time. As you drive by potential spaces, the system assesses the size of them and alerts you to any that your car will fit into. The car instructs you how to use the accelerator, gears and brakes – your S90 will do the rest, steering you into a parallel space just 1.2 times the length of the car. Cross Traffic Alert uses radar sensors to help you reverse out of a parking space by warning you of potential road users directly behind you.

A rigid safety cell constructed from ultra high-strength boron steel protects the car’s occupants, while pre-tensioners and load limiters allow safety belts to work effectively in the event of an impact, without exerting too much pressure on the body.![]()

An extra eye on the road
City Safety looks out for potential danger by using radar and camera technology to identify other vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians and even large animals, to help avoid or mitigate a collision. If City Safety detects an imminent collision, it alerts the driver and can automatically apply the brakes if the driver doesn’t react in time. City Safety also includes Steering Support, which helps you to steer away from danger as effectively and safely as possible.Stay on course
Volvo Cars’ Run-off road Mitigation helps make accidents where you leave the road less likely to happen by detecting if the car is about to veer from its path unintentionally between speeds of 65-140km/h. It can then use steering and braking to guide the car back onto the right path. In the event of your car leaving the road, Run-off Road Protection reduces the chances of serious injury. The front seat frame absorbs the impact of a hard landing on the body, while optional prepared safety belts automatically tighten to hold front seat occupants in place.
