Installation and use of Google Local Search

You can install and use the Google Local Search app via your Volvo's centre display. Using the app you can, amongst other things, search for restaurants, hotels and petrol stations in the vicinity of the car and along a route.

Installing and using Google Local Search

Using Google Local Search you can find restaurants, hotels, petrol stations and a lot more. To install and use Google Local Search, your car needs to have a working Internet connection. You can read instructions below for how to install Google Local Search and how you can use the app.

Installing Google Local Search

In application view: Download the Google Local Search app from Download Centre. For information on how to download apps, see Downloading and updating apps.

Google Local Search is installed.

Google Local Search replaces HERE Local Search

Google Local Search replaces HERE Local Search. If you have already installed Local Search but not yet updated the app, it will be updated next time you start it from the app view in your centre display.

Using Google Local Search

In application view: Open the Google Local Search app.

Search for the required location or business (e.g. restaurant, hotel, petrol station) near to your car/destination.

The search results are listed.

Select desired location or business.

Information, available images and any telephone numbers and opening hours for the selected search result are shown. By tapping on Show in Navigation you can get directions to the location or business you are interested in.

Google Local Search needs an Internet connection
