  • IntelliSafe Standard
    Adaptive Cruise Control

Helping you to maintain your preset gap to vehicles in front at all speeds up to 200 km/h, the Adaptive Cruise Control is a supportive partner for a more relaxed driving experience on any journey. Just select the desired speed and the desired time gap to the vehicle in front. When the radar sensor detects a slower vehicle in front, the speed automatically adapts to that vehicle. And when the road is clear, the car resumes the selected speed. At speeds over 70 km/h, Adaptive Cruise Control also makes overtaking more convenient: simply turning the indicator on, Adaptive Cruise Control will briefly accelerate your car for a more efficient and fast overtaking. Whenever you want, you can also select conventional cruise control.

    Image2
    Lane Keeping Aid

If you should begin to veer off-course, the standard-fitted Lane Keeping Aid can alert you or, if necessary, intervene with gentle steering support to help you stay in the lane. This function uses an advanced high resolution camera to register the lane markings and help monitor the car’s position on the road. If you get close to a lane marking, the system will gently steer the car back to help keep the car in the lane. And should you nevertheless unintentionally cross the lane marking you'll be alerted by haptic vibrations in the steering wheel or a warning sound. When you intentionally cross a lane marker using the turn indicators, Lane Keeping Aid is not activated. The system operates at speeds between 65 km/h and 200 km/h.

    Image2
    Road Sign Information

With Road Sign Information you don't have to miss important road signs. A forward camera detects speed limit, "no overtaking", "no entry" and various types of supplementary signs. The actual sign is then displayed in the speedometer or in the head-up display – to help keep you constantly alert on current restrictions. If you want, it can also alert you with a visual warning if you exceed the speed limit, by flashing gently three times. This is easily set in the centre console menu. And if the car is equipped with Sensus Navigation, information about speed cameras can be displayed next to the speed limit.

    Image2
    Emergency Brake light

Our Emergency Brake Light helps alert vehicles approaching from behind if you are forced to panic brake. It works above 50km/h and knows the difference between normal and panic braking. If it is a panic stop, the brake lights will flash at a rate of four times per second, which will telegraph a clear message to following traffic that there’s a potential problem ahead. Once you slow to below 10km/h, the brake lights stop pulsing and your hazard lights take over.

    Image2
Brakes with Hill Start Assist and Automatic Hold

In an emergency situation, the large anti-lock ventilated disc brakes of your Volvo will make all the difference. And if you find yourself travelling down a mountain road with the need to brake often and hard, you’ll welcome our brakes’ resistance to fading. But since there is always a risk of fade, your Volvo is prepared for this, too, with Fading Brake Support. This system gradually builds hydraulic brake pressure so that you always have reassuring pedal feel. But what if you find yourself having to brake in an emergency, and perhaps not applying the necessary pressure to the pedal? Well, we’ve developed Hydraulic Brake Assist, which ensures maximum braking pressure is applied hydraulically during a panic stop. Likewise, if you suddenly lift off the accelerator or sensors detect an obstacle in front of the car, Ready Alert Brakes instantly move the brake pads closer to the brake discs to reduce the braking distance. And Electronic Brake Distribution ensures that the right amount of braking goes to the front and rear of the your Volvo depending on where the load in the car is distributed and what the road conditions are. The braking system of your Volvo also contributes to your convenience when you're at standstill in different conditions. An automatic hold function ensures the brakes will be kept engaged after you have braked the car to standstill and releases the brake pedal. If the car is stopped for a longer period, the power parking brake takes over. And to make it easier and safer to starting uphill or downhill from standstill, the Hill start assist function keeps the brakes applied a short period after you have released the brake pedal until you press the accelerator – there's no risk the car will move while your foot moves from the brake pedal to the accelerator.

    Image2
    Automatic braking after a collision

Helping to reduce the risk for more damage and injury after a collision – like hitting other cars or people – your Volvo brakes automatically when the safety belt pre-tensioners or an airbag are activated.

    Image2
    SIPS™ side impact protection system

We developed our unique SIPS™ side impact protection system to help protect where you and your passengers are most exposed in the event of a side-collision. The steel framework of the car – including the front seat frames – is designed and reinforced to help displace the impact of a side-collision away from the occupants to other parts of the car body and help prevent intrusion into the cabin. The extremely strong side structure contains ultra-high strength steel and softer grades of steel to help withstand a severe side impact – even with a larger vehicle. The Inflatable Curtain for all the outboard occupants and the front seat side airbags interact with SIPS™ to help provide further protection. In the rear, SIPS™ and the Inflatable Curtain help protect the passengers in the outer rear seats.

    Image2
    Restraint technologies

In a collision, the restraint technologies of your Volvo interact to help reduce the impact. The safety belts with pre-tensioners activate within fractions of a second in the event of a collision or roll over and tighten the belt to help keep the occupants restrained. The safety belts for the front seats and the rear seat's outer positions then release a little to give less strain on the upper body. And if the car detects a situation that may be followed by a collision, such as a run-off road accident, the front safety belts retracts automatically to help maximise protection. Helping to optimise protection, the dual-stage airbags adapt the level of inflation depending on the force of the collision. The driver’s airbag also interacts with the deformation of the collapsible steering column. A knee airbag above the pedals further enhances protection of the driver. Side airbags in the front seats help reduce the risk of serious injuries in a side collision. The Inflatable Curtain helps protect the heads of both front and rear outboard occupants. It also stays inflated for several seconds to provide prolonged protection for subsequent impacts.

    Image2
    Side airbags

In a side-collision, the side airbags inflate instantly to help protect the chest and hip. The side airbags are located in the ideal spot on the front seatback.

    Image2
Dual-stage airbags, driver and front passenger

In a frontal collision, the driver and passenger airbags help protect your head, face and chest. But because no two collisions are the same, the airbags adapt the level of inflation depending on the force of the impact. The driver’s airbag also interacts with the deformation of the collapsible steering column. And if the impact is low enough that the airbags aren’t needed, the system will just deploy safety belt pre-tensioners if necessary.

    Image2
    Inflatable Curtain

In a frontal offset collision, a side impact or a rollover accident the Inflatable Curtain (IC) helps protect the heads of both front and rear passengers who are sitting on the sides. It also stays inflated for several seconds to provide prolonged protection in the event of secondary impacts.

    Image2
    WHIPS™ whiplash injury protection system

Our advanced WHIPS™ whiplash injury protection system incorporates the complete backrests and head restraints to help protect the driver and front seat passenger from whiplash injury if the car is hit from behind. During a rear impact, the WHIPS™ system moves the entire seatback with the passenger or driver while the head restraint remains rigid to support the neck. A unique Volvo design.

    Image2
    Anti-submarining protection

To help prevent that passengers slide under and out of their safety belts in the event of a big impact, the seats feature anti-submarining guards which are specially shaped panels angled upwards at the forward edge inside the seats.

    Image2
    Prepared front safety belts

Your Volvo continuously scans the road and behind. If it spots a traffic situation, a critical manoeuver such as a panic braking or an obstacle that could result in a collision, the front seat safety belts are tightened electrically to help provide maximum protection in the event of an accident. The front safety belts are also tightened if the car runs off the road in rough terrain, into a ditch or gets airborne. This together with a robust body structure and the other restraint technologies gives the best protection in a collision. If a collision is avoided, the front safety belts unroll again without needing to be serviced.

    Image2
Safety belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters

Three-point safety belts are the first line of defence when it comes to help protecting people during a crash. That’s why we introduced them in 1959. We also invented the audible and visual safety belt reminder and today, everybody in the car is reminded to fasten their safety belts before moving off. And in the information display on the instrument panel, you can check that the rear seat passengers have all fastened their safety belts and that nobody unfastens them during the trip. Pre-tensioners activate to tighten the belts within fractions of a second in the event of a collision. The safety belts for the front seats and the rear seat's outer positions then release a little to give less strain on the upper body. This also gives optimal belt pressure reduction for children at the rear seat's outer positions and at the integrated booster cushion. This also means that the driver and front passenger are cushioned by the airbags in a controlled fashion. If your Volvo senses a critical traffic situation that could result in a run-off scenario or a collision, our prepared front safety belts automatically tightens the front safety belts electrically to help provide maximum protection in the event of an accident.

BLIS™ blind spot information system and Cross Traffic Alert

BLIS™ is a Volvo innovation that helps alert you if a vehicle enters your blind spot or approaches fast from behind. The rear-mounted radar sensors cover a large area behind the car and work in various sorts of weather and light conditions, day or night. As a vehicle enters your blind spot or approaches rapidly from behind, this function can alert you via a warning light in the front door posts – left and right. Together with the door mirrors, which include a wide-angle mirror on the driver side, this helps you assess the feasibility of a lane change. BLIS™ is activated once the car exceeds 12 km/h and reacts to almost any type of vehicle, including motorcycles. Reversing out of a parking space or anywhere else with restricted vision at the sides can be a tricky business. To make these manoeuvres easier and less stressful our Cross Traffic Alert uses the rear radar sensors to alert you of crossing traffic from the sides. You'll be alerted by an audible warning from the left or right rear loudspeaker and by a graphic warning in the centre display. Alerting for approaching vehicles as well as for pedestrians and cyclists, Cross Traffic Alert is especially helpful in tight and crowded areas where the side view might be limited.

    Image2
Rear Collision Warning with braking at standstill

Being hit by a car from behind is one of the most common types of collisions. To help you avoid this type of accidents we created the radar based Rear Collision Warning system. If a vehicle approaches fast from behind and the system calculates that there's a risk of collision, it helps alert the driver in the approaching vehicle by flashing your hazard lights at a high rate. And if a collision still can't be avoided, the Rear Collision Warning system tensions the front safety belts just before the impact to help keep the occupants safely restrained. To help reduce the strain on the occupants at the impact the system also activates the brakes if your car is at standstill.

Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake and Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection

Your Volvo can alert you and intervene automatically in case of an imminent collision with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist in front of you. Active at speeds above 4 km/h, our collision avoidance technology can give you audible and visible warnings if you’re too close to a vehicle in front or if there are pedestrians or cyclists in your path. If you don’t react and a collision is imminent, full auto-braking is engaged to help you avoid or mitigate an impact. Within a range of 150 metres, a radar sensor behind the grille continuously monitors the distance to the vehicle driving in front of you and a digital camera behind the windscreen determines what objects are in front of you. During daylight it can also detect standing or moving pedestrians or cyclists travelling in the same direction. If a pedestrian or a cyclist unexpectedly swerves out in front of your car or if a vehicle suddenly brakes (or is stationary) and Collision Warning senses that a collision is likely to happen, it will prompt you to act with a flashing warning light on the windscreen along with an audible alarm. Moreover, this technology supports driver-initiated braking by pre-charging the brakes to minimise the braking distance. If you don’t react to the warning and a collision is imminent, the car immediately brakes with full braking force.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist

Helping you to maintain your preset gap to vehicles in front at all speeds up to 200 km/h, the Adaptive Cruise Control is a supportive partner for a more relaxed driving experience on any journey. In slow moving city traffic, the Adaptive Cruise Control stop and go function* with ECO mode automatically adapts your speed to the vehicle in front while helping you save fuel by maintaining smoother progress with less need for surges of acceleration. From standstill, a press of a button or the accelerator is all it takes to make your car smoothly tail the vehicle in front. At speeds over 30 km/h, just select the desired speed and the minimum time gap to the vehicle in front. When the radar sensor detects a slower vehicle in front, the speed automatically adapts to that vehicle. And when the road is clear, the car resumes the selected speed. If Adaptive Cruise Control is disengaged and a vehicle in front comes too close, the distance alert function activates a warning light in the lower section of the windscreen to help you keep a proper distance. Whenever you want, you can also select conventional cruise control by pressing the Adaptive Cruise Control button for a few seconds.

*The Queue Assist and stop and go function from 0 to 30 km/h requires Geartronic™ automatic transmission.

    Power parking brake

The power parking brake is easily engaged by pulling the control upwards. You can also set the parking brake to engage automatically every time you stop the engine. It is released automatically as soon as you press the accelerator with the transmission in the DRIVE or REVERSE mode – very convenient when moving off from steep gradients. You can also release it manually by pressing the control downwards.

    Image2
    Indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

With our Indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System you'll be instantly alerted in the driver display if one of your tyres is low on pressure. Active at 30 km/h or more, it helps increase your safety as well as ensuring maintained comfort and handling characteristics. The system uses the car's anti-lock brake system sensors to calculate the tyre pressure.

    Image2
Inner and outer rear view mirrors with Auto Dim

Our generously dimensioned door mirrors are made of chromatic glass that automatically dims to diminish glare from traffic behind you. The mirrors use an internal sensor to monitor light conditions and recognise glare from headlights. When this is detected, the inner and outer rear view mirrors will darken simultaneously to the exact degree necessary. Once the source of the glare disappears, the glass returns to its normal state automatically.

    Image2
LED illumination with Active High Beam

Journeys after dark have just become a lot more enjoyable and safer. Our signature design LED headlights combine an impactful look with safety and convenience. LED illumination technology allows a supremely wide and long light pattern – the light is more than twice as strong as conventional halogen lights. With this system, you don’t need to keep flicking between low and high beam, which is not only annoying – according to several studies, it’s also a major cause of night-time accidents. With our new system, your headlights stay on high beam all the time. When another car approaches from the opposite direction, the system automatically shifts between high and low beam to optimise your vision without dazzling other drivers. The same applies to cars in front of you. And because the system is intelligent, the high beam shuts off when you enter a city, but if you drive past an illuminated sign – say a filling station or supermarket – it stays on so you can see what’s coming up. This means you benefit from safety as well as convenience. During daytime, the distinctive hammer shaped light-guides not only act as daytime running lights to make your car more conspicuous – they also flash in a warm colour when indicating. And when the dipped headlights are needed for illumination, they are automatically engaged by a twilight sensor. Contributing to improved fuel economy and lower running costs, the LED lights are extremely energy efficient and last the lifetime of the car without losing any luminance.

    Image2
    Halogen illumination

Journeys after dark have become a lot more enjoyable – and safer – thanks to our Active High Beam technology. With this system, you don’t need to keep flicking between dipped and full beam, which is not only annoying – according to several studies, it’s also a major cause of night-time accidents. Employing camera technology, AHB recognises the headlight beam of on-coming vehicles and automatically shifts between high and low beam to optimise your vision without dazzling other drivers. And because the system is intelligent, the high beam shuts off when you enter a city, but if you drive past an illuminated sign – say a filling station or supermarket – it stays on so you can see what’s coming up. This means you benefit from safety as well as convenience.

    Image2
    Fog lamp with cornering function

At speeds of up to 40 km/h, the optional fog lamp with cornering function illuminates the area in which you’re turning at up to 15 degrees around the car for safer manoeuvring – for instance if you’re parking, turning into a small road or driving through a narrow gateway at night. To enhance your control during reversing in the dark, the cornering light activates on both sides to illuminate the area around your car.

  • Child safety
  • Child safety seats
    Integrated booster cushions, two-stage

With our integrated child booster cushions you'll easily provide safe and comfortable seating for children that have grown out of the conventional child seat. The children will be seated at the correct height for the safety belts to help provide optimum protection, while they can enjoy a better view during the ride. Our integrated child booster cushion features a choice of two heights, so smaller children can sit higher for a better view out. And that adjustable height also means that the safety belts are always positioned to work effectively. That, and the safety belt load limiter, which is adapted to a child with this option, will reduce the strain on a child’s neck and chest during an impact. In a side impact, the booster seat-equipped Volvo benefits from an Inflatable Curtain that has been extended downward to improve head protection for smaller, or younger children. And when you don’t need them, the booster seats disappear into the seat cushions.

    Image2
  • Child safety equipment
    Passenger airbag cut-off switch

The passenger airbag is designed to help protect an adult in a frontal collision in case of collision. But if a rearward-facing child seat is positioned in the front passenger seat, the airbag must first be disengaged to avoid the risk of serious injury. The airbag cut-off switch is positioned on the passenger end of the dashboard and can only be accessed with the door open. When the airbag is switched off, you’re notified by a message on the roof console display.

    Image2
    Power child safety lock

The power child lock enables you to conveniently lock the rear doors and rear power windows from the driver’s seat and prevent them from being opened from the inside.

    Image2
  • Security
    Alarm

Enjoy peace of mind also after you've parked your Volvo. Automatically turned on when you lock the car, the alarm is connected to the doors, bonnet and boot lid. It also reacts to movement inside the car or the breaking of a window. A level sensor deters thieves from jacking up the car to steal your wheels or tow it away. The deadlock function makes it impossible for a thief to open the doors from the inside once the car is locked from the outside. The movement sensor, level sensor and deadlock function can be switched off so people or pets can be left inside the parked and locked car.

    Image2
    Remote-controlled central locking system

A touch of a button on the remote control locks or unlocks the doors, boot lid and glove compartment. Use the personal settings menu to decide if the remote unlocks the driver’s door first, or all doors at the same time. You can also close or open all windows (including the sunroof if you have one) and unlock the boot lid separately – you can access your load compartment while nobody else can open any of the doors from the outside.

    Image2
    Automatic door locking

To further enhance your personal security, the doors can be set in the information menu to automatically lock the moment you drive away. Alternatively, lock them swiftly from the front seats using the lock button. For your safety in the event of a collision or roll-over, your Volvo unlocks automatically to make it possible to open the doors from the outside after an accident.

    Image2
    Keyless start

Start your Volvo with your remote control in your pocket. As long as your remote control is inside the car, you can start the engine simply by turning the start knob on the tunnel console while depressing the brake pedal.

    Image2
    Keyless locking and unlocking

When carrying bags or luggage, it can be very convenient that your Volvo unlocks as soon as you approach your car and pull the door handle. No need to press the remote control button – just keep the remote in your pocket or purse. And to lock the car after you've parked, you just push the button in the door handle. In addition to ordinary remote controls, this feature also includes a very small, waterproof keyless mini remote control you can bring with you everywhere. And adding the hands-free boot lid opening function, all you need to open the trunk lid is moving a foot under the rear bumper.

    Image2
    Private Locking

Private Locking is a function that allows you to keep the luggage and glove compartment locked even when you lend out your remote control or your Personal Car Communicator to, for example, a valet parking attendant. To activate Private Locking, a miniature key incorporated within the Personal Car Communicator is used to lock the glove compartment. This stops both compartments from being unlocked with the remote control or the Personal Car Communicator, but allows the central locking system and ignition to be used as normal.

    Global locking and closing

Forgot to close the windows? This function allows you to close all windows including the sunroof and lock the car all at once by pressing the lock button on the remote control for four seconds. Alternatively, press the unlock button for two seconds to unlock the car and open all the windows to get fresh air inside the car before entering.

    Image2
    Immobiliser and theft-protected locks

Not only will the door locks withstand most break-in attempts, the electronic immobiliser makes it impossible to start the car without the right remote control. And even if a would-be thief manages to get into the car via a window, the deadlock system makes it impossible to open the doors from the inside.

    Image2
    Keyless mini remote control

Choosing keyless locking and unlocking you also get this exquisite, very small remote control. Slip it into your pocket or wear it around your neck – it's so small you can bring it with you all the time. And you don't have to worry about swimming, surfing, yachting or any other outdoor activities: this remote is waterproof.

    Image2
Hands-free boot lid opening and closing

When your hands are full after shopping, the comfort opening function of your power boot lid can make a big difference: move your foot under the sensor in the rear bumper, and the boot lid opens or closes automatically.

    Image2
    Welcome and Home Safe light

Enhancing security as you go to your car at night, Welcome light provides a warm reception. The parking lights, rear lights, interior lighting and ground lighting in the door handles are turned on for 30 seconds when you unlock your car with the remote control. If a door is opened, it stays on for up to two more minutes. Home Safe light is activated with the headlight stalk as you leave the car. This feature provides a low beam from the headlight to accompany you to your door, whether you’re returning home or are out on the road.

    Image2
    Ground lighting

Integrated in the front door handles, the ground lighting illuminates the area beneath the door handles for a welcoming feel when you approach your car at night. It also makes it easier to locate the door handle and avoid stepping into, for example, an unseen puddle of water. Ground lighting is activated when you unlock your car using the remote control. For your extra convenience, the optional LED ground lighting under the doors further illuminates the area below the open door.

    Image2
    Lockable wheel bolts

These provide a simple, effective way of reducing the risk of aluminium wheels being stolen. The wheel lock features one uniquely coded socket enabling only you or your dealer technician to remove the wheels.

  • Climate
    CleanZone

Our CleanZone technology is created to give you and your passengers a better and healthier interior environment with clean air and minimised amounts of interior emissions. The system continuously monitors the incoming air quality. As soon as it detects harmful substances – such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and nitrogen dioxides – it temporarily shuts off all incoming air and starts recirculating the air inside the cabin. And if the interior air quality would deteriorate – for example if a window is open –you will be noticed via a symbol in the centre display. An active carbon filter effectively filters out harmful substances like vehicle exhaust and diesel exhaust particles. It also reduces some chemical odours from the outside, for example from the windscreen washer fluid. This helps to ensure that the air you breathe in the car is clean, often cleaner than that outside when driving in heavy city traffic and tunnels. To prepare a fresh environment in your new Volvo even on a warm day, the automatic CleanZone function initiates a ventilation cycle, which is triggered when you unlock the car with your remote control. This feature is active on days when it is at least 10°C outside. The automatic CleanZone function also does a great job of venting out allergy and asthma inducing substances, especially gases and smells from new materials in your new car. This automatic function is gradually reduced during the first years of usage to finally be terminated.

    Image2
    Four-zone climate system

We designed our four-zone climate system to give you and your passengers the best possible interior air quality and comfort in all seasons, all temperatures and all weathers. The efficient, electronically controlled automatic system maintains the cabin temperature you choose. No matter if you're seated in the front seats or in any of the outer reat seat positions – you can set the cabin temperature and automatic fan speed individually to suit your preferences. The automatic fan function can be set in five different levels to maximise the climate comfort for each occupant. Separate adjustable air vents in the roof pillars ensure that the occupants in the rear seat can enjoy the same climate comfort as the driver and front passenger. And whether you're seated in the front or rear seat, the cabin climate settings are easily controlled using intuitive touch screen controls – via the centre display with touch screen, or via the elegant touch control panel on the back of the tunnel console. An efficient cabin filter helps keep the incoming air free from dust, pollen and other particles – a real benefit if you or your passengers are prone to hay fever or other allergies. And adding our CleanZone Interior Air Quality System, the climate system continuously monitors the incoming air quality. As soon as it detects harmful substances – such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and nitrogen dioxides – it temporarily shuts off all incoming air and starts recirculating the air inside the cabin. An active carbon filter effectively filters out harmful substances like vehicle exhaust and diesel exhaust particles. The four-zone climate system also includes air-conditioned cooling of the glove compartment – very convenient to keep drinks or other heat-sensitive stuff cool and fresh during the journey.

    Image2
    Adjustable rear air vents

Air vents that are conveniently located in the door pillars at face level create a comfortable environment for rear seat passengers. They also keep ice and mist off the rear side windows, which makes for a safer journey.

    Image2
    Dark tinted rear windows

The extra dark tinted glass for the rear windows add to the sophisticated look of your Volvo and help cut glare and keep cabin temperatures down in hot, sunny conditions.

    Image2
    Electrically powered glass sunroof

This electrically powered glass sunroof adds a further dimension of airiness and light to the interior. And if the sun is in your eyes, just pull out the integrated sunblind. The sunroof can be opened or closed at the touch of a button in the roof console. It can also be opened or closed together with the side windows using the central locking remote control, the Personal Car Communicator or the lock button inside the car.

    Rear door sun curtains

Even if the sun is blazing on the outside, the rear seat passengers can efficiently reduce heat and glare by pulling up the sun curtains in the rear doors. These elegant curtains are perforated to allow good vision and maintain a comfortable experience for your passengers in the rear. Smoothly integrated in the rear door mouldings, the sun curtains are out of the sight when they're not needed.

    Image2
    Rear window sun curtain

Elegantly integrated in the hatshelf of your Volvo sedan, this power-operated sun curtain reduces heat and glare from the sun to improve comfort for your rear seat passengers in sunny weather. The sun curtain is perforated to allow the driver good vision through the rear-view mirror. When not needed, the sun curtain is hidden into the hatshelf.

  • Storage
    Glove compartment

The glove compartment is an example of clean Scandinavian design with form and function as one. The glove compartment lid is an uncluttered surface that you open by pressing a button on the centre console. No keyholes or handles, and you lock it together with the doors. It's roomy on the inside, with convenient pencil and credit card holders. Illumination makes it easy to find the stuff you're locking for. And if your Volvo is equipped with the four-zone climate system, the glove compartment is air conditioned to keep your drinks cool.

    Image2
    Front centre armrest and storage

Positioned between the ultra-slim front seats, the stylish front centre armrest emphasize the exclusive Scandinavian interior design with clean lines, genuine materials and superior craftsmanship. You have access to smart storage, two cupholders and a 12 V power outlet under a roll-top cover in the same material as the interior deco panels. The pull/push handle is divided to also provide a small, separate storage in front. The armrest provides generous support for both the driver and front seat passenger, and folded up it displays a generous storage compartment underneath with AUX and USB inputs to connect your external devices – such as your mobile phone – to the audio system.

    Image2
    Front door bins

During long journeys, the spacious front door bins add to your convenience and comfort. Here you can put the stuff you and the front seat passenger need to have easy at hand. In each of the bin there's room for a 1.5-litre bottle.

    Image2

  • Driver's support
    Centre display

When we created the driver's environment in your Volvo, our main focus was to make it as intuitive and natural as possible. We achieved this by virtually eliminating buttons and switches and moving these controls into our new tablet-sized, 9-inch centre display with touch screen. From here, you intuitively control functions such as climate control, entertainment, navigation, the in-car apps and everything in between to make your drive easy and comfortable. The virtual buttons on the screen are dynamic– when you need the buttons, they become bigger and appear on the lower part of the screen to be easy to find and control. You can also rearrange the virtual buttons to suit your personal preferences. The vertical portrait format of the display makes it easy to use and overview. To make it comfortable and safe for you to view the display while driving, all information is presented in the upper part of the screen while the lower part is dedicated for the touch controls. This format is also convenient when you for example are being guided by the navigation system as it can display more of the road ahead. Highly advanced touch screen technology means your finger barely needs to touch the screen to activate or control a function. Some commands you can perform just by sweeping a finger or a hand across the screen – even with gloves on. Contributing to the elegant clean Scandinavian look of the cabin, the full graphical display is glossy at the same time as anti-reflective coating minimises reflections and glare. And just as with the driver display, the looks and colour scheme of the centre display can be adapted to suit your mood. In addition, the look of the display also changes depending on the drive mode you choose.

    Image2

    Image2
    Steering wheel controls

Every little detail in your Volvo is there for a reason – to give you a great experience and facilitate life in your car. For example, the button controls that are neatly integrated in the steering wheel design. From here you can control several functions like cruise control, phone, infotainment, trip computer and the driver information menu in the driver display – all without taking your hands off the wheel. And to make your Volvo response even more intuitively to your commands, you can use voice control that is conveniently activated at the press of a steering wheel button.

    Image2
    Illuminated vanity mirrors

Fitted in the sun visors for the driver and front seat passenger, lights come on when you open the vanity mirror cover – convenient and practical. Integrated ticket holders further enhance your convenience.

    Image2
    Automatic headlamp levelling

The light beams from the LED headlights are automatically kept at the optimum level to provide you with the best vision without dazzling other road-users, regardless of load and the amount of passengers. The system acts swiftly and will even maintain the headlight level during fast acceleration.

    Image2
    Power door mirrors

You easily adjust the aerodynamic yet generously dimensioned door mirrors from your position in the driver's seat. To protect your door mirrors from damage while the car for example is parked or driving through a car wash, press both buttons for the left and right mirror at the same time to fold them flat against the car. They can also be set to fold or unfold automatically every time you lock or unlock the car. To facilitate parking, the door mirrors can tilt automatically (or by the push of a button) to show you the kerb when reversing. Contributing to your safety when it's cold, the door mirrors are electrically heated together with the rear window and therefore kept free from frost. And to make sure that a following car’s headlights don’t dazzle you when driving in the dark, you can add an auto-dimming function that reduces intrusive light reflection via the door mirrors.

    Image2
    Power parking brake

The power parking brake is easily engaged by pulling the control upwards. You can also set the parking brake to engage automatically every time you stop the engine. It is released automatically as soon as you press the accelerator with the transmission in the DRIVE or REVERSE mode – very convenient when moving off from steep gradients. You can also release it manually by pressing the control downwards.

    Image2
    Heated windscreen washer nozzles

To give you the best possible vision even in heavy rain or snow at all speeds, extremely efficient washer nozzles are integrated into the wiper arms and apply fluid above the wiper blades. By adding heating that prevents the washer fluid to freeze in the nozzles, the windscreen can be washed even in the harshest conditions.

    Image2
    Head-up display

Driving your Volvo, you never have to look away from the road. The head-up display presents the most vital driver information as it's hovering two metres in front of the windscreen. You can keep your eyes on the traffic at the same time as you, for example, get information from the navigation system. You don't have to change focus or look down, which also gives less strain on the eyes. The brightness of the head-up display adapts automatically to the light conditions, and you can set the system to suit your own personal preferences.

    Image2
    Park Assist Camera, rear

To further improve your convenience when reversing, the rear Park Assist Camera helps display what’s going on behind your car. Using a digital camera discretely located under the tailgate handle, it shows a wide view behind your car on the centre display. On-screen guiding lines provide extra assistance for smooth parking. You can also switch the camera to a zoomed-in view close to the car – very convenient when hitching a trailer, for example.

    Image2
    360° camera

With our 360° camera you can see a virtual bird's eye view of the area surrounding your Volvo. A high-resolution image is shown in the centre display and will be a great help for example when manoeuvring or reversing in tight areas with impaired visibility – you can even see what's going around the corner at a 180° side view in front or at the rear of your car. The system uses four hidden cameras: two at the door mirrors, one at the front and one at the rear. And by gently touching the camera images on the centre display touch screen, you can get a view from just that camera. The rear camera can also be switched to a zoomed-in view close to the car – very convenient when hitching a trailer, for example.

    Image2
    12-inch driver display

From the moment you take your position behind the wheel of your Volvo, you'll feel you're in control. In the full graphical digital driver display in front of you, all relevant driver information – including navigation directions, telephone and actual road signs – is intuitively displayed. Our top-of-the-line 12-inch display features two large round instruments and one central information display. Depending on how you use it, the size of the information display adapts to give you the best visual experience. For example, if you use the navigation system, that display becomes bigger and the two instruments smaller. Further contributing to your driving experience, you can choose between different looks and colour schemes to adapt the display to the mood you're in. There's a choice of four graphic display modes. In addition, the look of the display also changes depending on the drive mode you choose. The mode you select, also applies for the 9-inch centre display. To ensure that all information is presented as clearly and comfortably for your eyes as possible, the brightness of the display adapts automatically according to the exterior light conditions. Like, for example, when the sun shines through the windows or there are lights from vehicles behind when it's dark. It also adapts when you're driving through a tunnel and at night. The driver display can also be seen by the front seat passenger. When the ignition is off, the display has a glossy black, hi-tech look to enhance the exclusive impression every time you enter your Volvo.

    Image2
    Interior lighting

Good lighting is the key to creating the right atmosphere. This is as true in your car as it is in your home. When you unlock your Volvo, the interior light together with foot well lights and mood lights are illuminated. And when a front door is opened, light under the door illuminates the ground by courtesy to help you avoid stepping into, for example, a puddle of water. In addition, illuminated tread plates and a light guide along the dashboard and the four doors create a welcoming feel inside your Volvo. The discrete mood lights further contributes to a warm and cosy atmosphere when travelling. Front reading lamps are integrated in the roof console. The rear seat reading lamps are recessed in the roof and shaded to avoid dazzling the driver. The interior light will fade out gradually after the doors have been closed, but will switch off immediately if the ignition is turned on or the doors are locked.

    Image2

    Image2

    Image2
Park assist sensors, rear and front

Activated when you reverse, rear park assist sensors help you when manoeuvring into tight spaces. The audio system is turned down and a pulsating sound from the rear loudspeakers increases in frequency as the car gets closer to the obstacle, becoming a continuous tone when it’s time to stop. Front park assist sensors perform a similar function at the front of the vehicle – alerting you via the front loudspeakers. The centre console display screen shows a top view of the car and the activated sensors.

    Image2
    Park Assist Pilot

Take away the fuss of parking and let your car park itself – no matter if you're about to parallel park along the street or manoeuvre into a perpendicular parking space. At the press of a button, Park Assist Pilot scans the parking slot using ultrasonic sensor technology. The system alerts you if the slot is spacious enough (minimum 1.2 x the length of the car at parallel parking). Then just follow the instructions in the driver information display. You control the speed and direction of your car, while Park Assist Pilot takes over the steering until you're perfectly parked. It can also assist you when steering out of a tight parallel parking space. Park Assist Pilot also includes front and rear park assist sensors that help you when manoeuvring into tight spaces. The centre display shows a graphical top view of the car and the distance to detected obstacles.

    Image2
    Driver adjustable power steering

To adapt the speed-dependent power steering characteristics to your own personal preferences, you can add driver adjustable power steering. While the steering assistance adjusts automatically depending on your car’s speed, you can choose in the centre display between three levels of overall steering feel and sensitivity – for low, medium or high steering assistance through the entire speed range.

    Image2
    Apple CarPlay

If you are used to iPhone you'll probably prefer to meet that interface every time you connect your iPhone to the centre display in your Volvo. With Apple CarPlay, the display of your iPhone (5 or later) with some of its apps and buttons is mirrored at the centre display. You conveniently control functions like phone and music in the familiar Apple IOS layout – either via the centre display touch screen or by Siri voice commands. You can also receive and reply to text messages using Siri voice commands. Your iPhone is connected using a cable via an additional USB port in the front centre armrest which means your battery is charged and you can enjoy a higher sound quality through the audio system.

Apple and iPhone are trademarks of Apple Inc.

    Image2
    Rain sensor

Once activated, the rain sensor can start the windscreen wipers as soon as it begins to rain or if water splashes onto the windscreen. For your convenience, it can also automatically adapt the intermittent windscreen-wiper function. Its sensitivity can be adjusted via a ring on the wiper stalk.

    Image2
Daytime Running Lights with daylight sensor

With the light switch in the Auto position, the fuel-saving Daytime Running Lights are automatically activated. If the daylight becomes to dim, or if you enter a tunnel for example, a sensor will detect the changed light conditions and activate your car's headlights. They will also be activated if you turn on the windscreen wipers or the rear fog light. The system will turn the headlights automatically as well.

    Image2
    Automatically dimmed inner rear-view mirror

Ending the need to take your hand off the steering wheel and stop headlight beams shining in your eyes, the anti-dazzle function is stepless and returns to normal when it's no longer needed.

    Image2
    Power windows, front and rear

The power windows have controls conveniently located in the door armrests. The front windows can be lowered or raised with a quick press or pull of a button, and you can lock the back windows from the driver’s seat if you’re travelling with small children. In this case, you’ll also be glad of the automatic anti-clamp protection, which will stop a window from closing on a trapped little hand.

Premium Sound by Bowers & Wilkins

In our quest for perfection, we developed our new state-of-the-art audio system Premium Sound together with the renowned high-end audio manufacturers Bowers & Wilkins. The result is simply overwhelming – the Premium Sound by Bowers & Wilkins may be the world's best sound system in the class. The numbers are impressive: one 12-channel amplifier, an astonishing 1400W output and 19 separate high-end speakers (including two automotive innovations: a unique open-air sub-woofer and a tweeter-on-top centre speaker facing the occupants for a sound that's detailed and true to life). But this audio system goes beyond figures – our sound engineers have searched obsessively for audiophile perfection. Using a radically new approach, they developed a unique room transformation technology together with the Swedish audio software specialists Dirac Research. This technology makes it possible to recreate the acoustics of a specific room inside the car. There are three room modes: "Studio" for an excellent, dry and precise listening experience, "Individual Stage" that allows you to control the acoustics and create your own sound using the centre display, and "Gothenburg Concert Hall" which recreates the amazing acoustic experience of this legendary concert hall. The result speaks directly to any music lover's soul – wherever you're seated in your S90. The whole experience exudes quality and craftsmanship – most of the tweeter and mid-range speaker panels are in stainless steel, and the yellow speaker cones are elegantly visible through the mesh. This audio system is part of our Sensus Connect which also includes the 9-inch centre display with touchscreen and steering wheel controls with a scroll wheel. And if you want to watch your favourite TV shows while at standstill, you can add Digital TV for terrestrial channels.

High Performance audio system (5-inch screen)

This is a powerful and versatile 4x45W audio system featuring advanced media technology such as Bluetooth and USB/iPod® connectivity. Each of the 8 loudspeakers is fitted with a more powerful magnet and a larger coil. In combination with the amplifier, this system promotes excellent transient reproduction and high power – quite simply superb sound. With a dash-integrated 5-inch colour screen that gives you full control of the audio system.

  • Audio equipment
    Sub-woofer, open-air

Want to enjoy the depth of genuine, uncluttered bass? We designed this sub-woofer to meet the audiophile's most exacting demands on bass reproduction. Using open-air technology that allows the sub-woofer's 250 mm carbon fibre cone to pulse enormous amounts of air through an opening in the rear wheel-arch, it can deliver extremely low and undistorted bass tones (down to 20 Hz). And to save space, the sub-woofer is thin and integrated in the vehicle architecture to not encroach passenger or load space. This open-air sub-woofer is included in the Premium Sound by Bowers & Wilkins. A lower specified version is available as option for the High Performance audio system.

    Single CD player

This single CD player is elegantly integrated into the front centre armrest. You operate it conveniently from the centre display with touchscreen or from the steering wheel keypad. Select individual tracks or allow the CD player to select them at random. You can also play MP3 and WMA music files.

    Image2
    Premium Sound loudspeakers

The twelve high-end loudspeakers in the Premium Sound system are powered by a 5x130 W digital amplifier. There are three separate drivers – woofer, midrange and tweeter – in each front door. In the rear doors there is a similar set-up. Each speaker has its own crossover filter to harmonise with the others. The latest generation Dolby® Pro Logic® II surround sound uses the centre loudspeakers (woofer and tweeter) and a sound processor to recreate authentic sound with a strong sense of presence for everyone in the car. The digital class D amplifier features new technology to provide extremely high efficiency, enabling it to generate maximum audio power from the least amount of current.

  • Load compartment
    Folding two-split 60/40 rear seat

If you have a lot of luggage or bulky goods to transport, you conveniently fold down one or both of the split-folding rear backrests. This also allows you to carry both passengers and cargo with unimpaired comfort and safety. When folded, the backrests create a flat loading floor to facilitate loading and unloading. And to carry long objects such as a apir of skis inside the cabin, just open the hatch in the middle of the rear backrest to stow your gear.

    Image2
Elastic load net and power outlet, load compartment

The elastic load net on the right side panel of the load compartment allows you to secure smaller items in the recess behind the load net. This option also includes a 12V power outlet on the right side of the load compartment where you easily connect extra electrical equipment such as an electric cooler box for your refreshments.

    Image2
    Shopping bag hooks

After shopping, the two integrated folding hooks in the load compartment side panels will take care of up to two shopping bags.

    Power boot lid

When you for example approach your car and your hands are full, the power boot lid can be very convenient. It can be opened or closed automatically in three different ways: with the remote control, using the button on the dashboard, or by pressing a button on the boot lid. To help minimise risk of injury when closing the boot lid, sensors around the luggage compartment opening can detect obstructions to help avoid pinching your fingers and stop the boot lid. And if something gets in the way when opening, the boot lid stops. The power boot lid can also be programmed to open to a lower height than its maximum. This can be very useful if you for example park your car in a garage with limited roof height. For extra convenience, you can add keyless locking/unlocking that includes hands-free opening and closing of the power boot lid.

    Image2
Hands-free boot lid opening and closing

When your hands are full after shopping, the comfort opening function of your power boot lid can make a big difference: move your foot under the sensor in the rear bumper, and the boot lid opens or closes automatically.

Active chassis with rear air suspension

With the rear air suspension system you give your Volvo an even greater breadth of dynamic ability. Instead of the transverse composite leaf spring, this technology is based on separate air chambers for each rear wheel. Controlled by a computerised compressor, each air chamber constantly adapts to the driving conditions. Together with our electronically controlled active chassis, this gives you unique opportunities to control and adapt the suspension according to your driving desires. You can select different drive modes, all to increase the car's versatility in all road and weather conditions. In Comfort mode, the air suspension is tuned for maximum comfort, while Eco mode slightly stiffens the suspension. Dynamic mode enhances the car's sporty characteristics with firmer, more dynamic suspension. The modes are simple to switch between using the elegant and ergonomic roller control in the console between the front seats. To maintain comfort and driving characteristics in all circumstances, the air suspension constantly keeps the car at the same ride height and level regardless of the number of passengers or the weight of the cargo.

    Image2

  • Engines
T6 AWD (2.0L I4 supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine)

Do you want an exhilarating drive, but won't compromise with fuel consumption and environmental care? With our lightweight Drive-E powertrain generation no efforts have been spared to give you the most efficient, confident and exciting driving experience – for today as well as for the future. Utilising state-of-the-art engine technology and innovative out-of-the-box thinking, our engineers have created a range of 2.0-litre four-cylinder engines with the same power output and driveability as considerably larger engines with six cylinders or more. And what's even better – the fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions are supremely low. Low friction technology, innovative engine management systems, common rail direct fuel injection and combined supercharger/turbo technology are some of the secrets behind this marvel of pure efficiency – the supercharger gives more torque at low revs for a great throttle response, with the turbo boost kicking in at higher revs. Our Stop/Start technology and engine braking energy regeneration help you to reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions even more. And low engine weight contributes to agile handling on winding roads. Together with the fuel-saving eight-speed Geartronic™ automatic transmission, the 320 hp/400 Nm T6 AWD drivetrain ensures you'll always be in the right gear to enjoy superior comfort and engine response. And if you'd like to boost your efficiency even further, our intelligent ECO function optimises the engine, the automatic transmission and the climate system to further lower your fuel consumption with about 5%. To adapt the engine characteristics to your preferences or driving conditions, you can add a function that allows you to choose between different drive modes for the engine, gearbox and the optional air-suspension – Comfort, Eco, Dynamic and Individual mode. Using the ergonomic roller control in the centre console between the front seats, you conveniently switch between the different modes. For ultimate driving dynamics, this engine is mated to our All-Wheel Drive with Instant Traction™.

And what's even better – the fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions are supremely low. Low friction technology, innovative engine management systems, common rail direct fuel injection and advanced turbo technology are some of the secrets behind this marvel of pure efficiency – the turbocharging is optimised to provide particularly good driveability and response at low to medium engine revs. Our Stop/Start technology and engine braking energy regeneration help you to reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions even more. And low engine weight contributes to agile handling on winding roads. Together with the fuel-saving eight-speed Geartronic™ automatic transmission, the 254 hp/350 Nm T5 AWD drivetrain ensures you'll always be in the right gear to enjoy superior comfort and engine response. And if you'd like to boost your efficiency even further, our intelligent ECO function optimises the engine, the automatic transmission and the climate system to further lower your fuel consumption with about 5%. • Transmission
    Eight-speed Geartronic™ automatic transmission

Do you want an intuitive, responsive powertrain that feels like an extension of your senses? Mated to our all-new generation turbocharged four-cylinder Drive-E powertrains, this eight-speed automatic transmission ensures you're always in the right gear – whether it's for optimal engine response and driveability, or for a smooth driving experience with the highest fuel-efficiency. And offering faster and more precise gear changes in the manual mode, our gearshift paddles will add even more fun behind the steering wheel.

    Image2
    Stop/Start technology

Imagine how much energy could be saved if every car, at every traffic light in the world, switched off its engine… Our Stop/Start technology does just that. Once your engine has warmed up, and you bring your car to a halt, the engine automatically shuts off. And the instant you press the accelerator, the engine restarts and you’re on the go. It reduces fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions by up to 8%. An extra battery ensures that all infotainment and comfort systems function as usual while the engine is off. The Stop/Start system can be deactivated in the centre display and is active between -5° and +30°C.

    Image2
    All-wheel Drive (AWD)

The advanced AWD technology with Instant Traction™ helps increase driving stability and traction on all road surfaces, in all weather conditions. It has an electronic management system that constantly monitors the speed of the wheels, the throttle, engine torque, engine speed and the brakes. As driving conditions change, wheels with the best grip get the most power. When a tyre loses traction, power is reduced to that wheel and instantly transferred to the more sure-footed wheels. Under normal, dry conditions practically all the power is distributed to the front wheels to minimise fuel consumption without compromising on stability. And when needed, up to 50% of the engine's power can be distributed to the rear wheels. At standstill, full all-wheel drive is always engaged to prepare for maximum traction. This facilitates take-off in slippery conditions or if you for example pull a boat trailer up a ramp.

    Image2
    Hill Start Assist

Hill Start Assist automatically keeps the brake pressure while you move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator, so you’ll never slide backwards or stall your engine again when driving off up an incline. Hill Start Assist also works in reverse gear.

  • Chassis & Steering
    Chassis

The chassis of your Volvo has been tuned to deliver a refined, smooth ride as well as sharp handling. All to give you a car that is just as comfortable and fun to drive on challenging country roads as it is on the highway. The advanced aluminium double wishbone suspensions at the front wheels provide perfectly balanced road holding and steering characteristics. At the rear, an exclusive Integral axle allows all characteristics to be individually tuned for your comfort and enjoyment. Extensive use of aluminium and a transverse lightweight leaf spring in composite material at the rear (unless the car is equipped with air-suspension) reduce the unsprung weight, which is essential for road holding and comfort. Reducing the total weight of the car, this also contributes to low fuel consumption.

    Image2
    Drive modes

To adapt the engine characteristics to your preferences or driving conditions, you can add a function that allows you to choose between different drive modes for the engine, gearbox and the optional air-suspension – Comfort, Eco, Dynamic and Individual mode. Comfort mode is programmed to give you maximum comfort. Eco mode calibrates the engine and gearbox for lowest possible fuel consumption. Dynamic mode is calibrated for sporty driving, with quick engine and gearbox responses. In this mode, the digital driver display changes automatically to the Sport setting to further enhance the experience. Off road mode can be set at speeds below 20 km/h to maximise the car's performance on poor roads and facilitate driving in difficult situations. Individual mode allows you to create your own personal drive mode and save it in your remote key memory. In Eco mode, the accelerator has a softer, less responsive function and the gearbox changes up at lower engine speeds. An Eco-Coast function helps the driver utilise the car's kinetic energy, and when the accelerator is released at speeds above 65 km/h there is no engine braking and the car rolls freely while saving fuel. This mode also turns off the air conditioning and reduces other auxiliary loads to minimise fuel consumption. In the Individual mode, you can tailor your own personal drive mode and store your settings in the remote control memory. Every time you open your car with that remote, the stored driving mode is activated. Using the ergonomic roller control in the centre console between the front seats, you conveniently switch between the different modes.

    Alcohol lock, installation kit

Alcohol lock, installation kit is a preparation in the car that simplifies the connection of an alcohol lock. The handset must be ordered separately. It helps the driver to avoid driving under the effects of alcohol. Before starting the car, the driver blows into a hand held unit that communicates with the car’s electronic control system. The breath sample is analysed and, if the person is intending to drive leaves a sample with an alcohol content of over permitted alcohol limit, the alcohol installation kit prevents the car from being started.

    Snow chains K-Summit

When you need maximum traction on a slippery or snow covered road, you fit these highly capable snow chains with a minimum of hassle. A clever design allows them to only be fitted at the outside of the tyre, not on the inside as with ordinary snow chains – so you don't have to put your arms over the tyre and get dirty. Just slip the snow chains on the front tyres, fit the ratchet to an adapter at the wheel bolts and span the mechanism with the built-in handle – and you're ready to take on the worst possible road conditions. And when not needed, the snow chains are easily removed. Rest of the time you store them in a practical bag.

An integrated support leg helps facilitate safe backward installation. We recommend that children be seated backwards as far as possible. But when a child grows bigger (15–25 kg) and cannot comfortably be seated facing to the rear, this seat can also be used as a forward-facing booster cushion that puts a child in the correct position for the car’s safety belt.

    Image2
    Booster seat (15–36 kg)

Volvo’s booster seat helps position a child at the correct height for the safety belt and is designed to optimise side impact protection. The headrest and width adjust easily to enhance comfort, and the backrest can be reclined when the child wants to rest.

Child seat, booster cushion and backrest (15–36 kg)

Made from comfortable - yet highly impact-absorbent material - the booster cushion is designed to make sure children aged between three and ten sit high enough so their safety belt fits properly. The adjustable backrest provides extra support for their back and neck, even greater protection in a rear-end collision and can also be tilted for sleeping. The elegant, soft wool upholstery is specially-designed to match the interior of your Volvo. It's also a natural material that provides excellent comfort in all temperatures thanks to its breathable and moist-absorbing characteristics.

  • Security

Our One-Key Locking System makes it more convenient if you already have a load carrier and want to add more load-carrying accessories. This means you only need one set of keys for all your load carriers such as roof boxes and holders for skis, bikes and kayaks.

You can also switch the camera to a zoomed-in view close to the car – very convenient when hitching a trailer, for example.

At speeds over 70 km/h, Adaptive Cruise Control also makes overtaking more convenient: simply turning the indicator on, Adaptive Cruise Control will briefly accelerate your car for a more efficient and fast overtaking. Whenever you want, you can also select conventional cruise control.

  • Security

  • Climate

    Image2
    Rear centre armrest with cupholders

For more comfort, the rear centre armrest can be folded down, revealing two cupholders. The rear centre armrest is available with our leather upholsteries.

    Image2

    Image2

    Image2

    Bluetooth® handsfree system, integrated

Want to access your mobile phone while you’re on the road to find an address, lay out a route in the navigation system and call ahead that you’re on your way? The on-board Bluetooth® technology lets you do all this wirelessly through the infotainment system – and play some music along the way. Once configured for a mobile phone, the system automatically recognises your phone as you enter the car.

    Image2

    Image2

  • Security

On arrival, HomeLink® allows you to operate remote-controlled home appliances – such as a garage door, home alarm and exterior lighting – without leaving the car. It's conveniently controlled using buttons integrated in the rear-view mirror.

    iPad® holder

Make the journey even more enjoyable for the passengers in the second row of seats. With this elegant specially-designed holder, your rear seat passengers safely fit their iPad® at a comfortable position and can enjoy whatever apps and internet based entertainment they have access to. They can lean back and watch a movie. Best of all, with our holder, the iPad® screen will never go blank. Two charging points are included: one for the tablet, and an additional one for the mobile phone. And when the holder is not needed or if the second row of seats needs to be folded down, it is easy to remove. For the best available internet connection, we recommend our optional 3G based Volvo On Call solution that gives you a more powerful reception by making use of your car's rooftop antenna. This means you can create a Wi-Fi hotspot inside your Volvo – anybody that shares your ride can easily connect his or her smartphone, laptop or tablet to the internet and enjoy a stable connection.
