Before you collect your Volvo On Call car
Volvo On Call is a factory option when you buy a new Volvo. Before you collect your new Volvo with Volvo On Call from your dealer, it is a good idea to have downloaded the Volvo On Call appApplies to model year 2012 or later. and tried it out in demo mode. The demo version allows you to try out most of the functions and gives you an idea of how the app is used. The app can be downloaded for free from the Apple AppStore or Google Play.
Available app functions
The app functions available may vary depending on which Volvo model you have and which mobile device you are using. For more information, see Available Volvo On Call app functions for each Volvo model and Volvo On Call Compatible devices.
Activate Volvo On Call
Before you collect your new Volvo, the dealer activates Volvo On Call. At the same time, a PIN code for Volvo On Call is automatically generated and sent to you. The PIN code is used for security reasons to identify you as the owner of your Volvo (or another approved person, such as a family member) and can work as a car key. Create a Volvo ID and link the Volvo On Call app to your Volvo
You need a Volvo ID in order to use Volvo On Call. If you do not have one already, you will need to create one, see Create and register a Volvo ID . When you have created a Volvo ID, you need to connect the Volvo On Call app to your car, see Connect the Volvo On Call app to your Volvo.
When buying a used Volvo with Volvo On Call
If you have bought a used Volvo with Volvo On Call, it is important to delete data from the previous owner and add your own details to make the service work. Visit an authorised Volvo dealer to get help with this. For more information, see Volvo On Call Change of ownership.
To be able to use the Volvo On Call app, the following are required:
- Your Volvo is of model year 2012 or later and is equipped with Volvo On Call.
- You have a valid Volvo On Call subscription.
- Your Volvo has a valid Volvo On Call subscription. If you are uncertain whether your Volvo has a valid Volvo On Call subscription, visit the nearest authorised Volvo dealer.

S90, V90 and V90 Cross Country of model year 2017 onwards
XC40, XC60, XC60 Twin Engine, V90 Twin Engine and S90 Twin Engine of model year 2018 onwards
