Switch off data sharing and personal information for different systems

For certain car models, individual systems may need resetting, if you do not want them to share data from your car. See section "This article is relevant to" to see if this text is relevant to your car. Note that you will not be able to use your functions fully if some functionality is switched off.

Switch off information sharing, Volvo On Call services

Only applicable to Volvo On Call markets.

  1. For S60 and V60 model cars it is possible to disable radio transmission in the settings menu for Volvo On Call.
  2. For the XC90 it is possible to switch off setting for radio transmission under the Volvo On Call menu.
  3. For other models, it is possible to cancel an ongoing Volvo On Call subscription. If the subscription is cancelled, no data will be shared by Volvo On Call. See the Owner's Manual for your car for further information on how to cancel a Volvo On Call subscription or contact your dealer.

Switch off sharing of information for connected car via car modem, P-SIM, Bluetooth or WI-FI

Go to SettingsInternet settings and select "none" as source for internet connection. Note that if you switch off the setting, the car will not be connected to the internet either.

RTI (Road Traffic Information) via RDS-TMC does not share data from your car

For RTI across RDS-TMC, no action is necessary as the system only uses the FM frequency to receive information, not to send. No personal information will be shared from the car.
