Cross traffic alert with autobrake supports the driver when reversing with limited view. The system can detect vehicles crossing behind and if needed, the autobrake can be applied.**

What does it mean that I can start the order of the pure electric XC40 Recharge online?
You will be able to configure your car according to your preferences, review the different payment options for acquiring the car and then review the full order summary. If you are happy with the order overview, you can fill in your personal details, choose a retailer of your preference and submit the order request. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with all the details and our Customer Relations Centre will contact you within one working day to proceed with the final step for ordering your new car.
Is it possible to add additional packages, options or accessories after submitting the online order request?
Yes. After submitting the request form, our Customer Relations Centre will contact you. Before finalising the order, you are welcome to add available packages, options and other accessories, at an additional cost. Please note that this can increase the price.
Which payment options are available?
There is an outright purchase option, a finance option and a lease option. The prices shown on our website are Ex-showroom prices and the final price (incl. registration, insurance & other charges) will be finalised together with your local retailer. No deposit or payment is made online. After choosing your preferred option, payment terms will be detailed by your retailer.
Do I physically have to visit the retailer to finalise the order and sign the contract?
All documentation and contract signing can either be done at the retailer or at your preferred location (home/office). Our local retailers also have an option for online payments which you can avail. More details can be discussed with your retailer.
Am I in a binding agreement after submitting the form?
No. Your data is only used to process your order request.

What Google apps and services are built into the pure electric XC40 Recharge?
The XC40 Recharge has Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play built in.
Do I need a subscription for the Digital Services package?
A 4-year subscription for the Digital Services package is included in the price of the car. After that you can buy a continuation of the subscription if you wish to continue using all the services included.
When does the Digital services subscription start and how long does it last?
A subscription lasts four years when a new Volvo XC40 Recharge is purchased. The subscription is linked to the car, so in the event of the car being sold, any remaining subscription time is passed on to the next owner/user.
Is the data, required to run the Digital services package, included?
The data required for the Digital Services package is included for four years. This includes both for navigation and voice assistant, as well as downloading and running any type of apps (e.g. music streaming).
Is the pure electric XC40 Recharge also offered for fleet sales?
Currently the Pure Electric XC40 Recharge is not offered for fleet sales. For more details, please contact your local retailer.
How long can I drive before I need to recharge the battery?
As per WLTP and EPA driving cycles under controlled conditions for a new vehicle, a fully-charged battery gives a projected range of up to 418 kms*. However, actual range may vary based on driving conditions and other factors such as outdoor temperature, weather, wind, topography and roads.
How long will it take to charge my car?
Normal pace charging - With a 7.4 kW AC wall box charger: 8 to 9 hours for up to 80% charge Rapid charging - With a 50 kW DC charger: 2 hours for up to 80% charge Fastest charging - With a 150 kW DC charger: 40 minutes for up to 80% charge

What warranty does Volvo Cars have on the battery?
The Volvo Cars Warranty for the battery is 8 years or 160,000km, whichever occurs first, provided that the car and battery are maintained and used in accordance with Volvo Cars’ recommendations.
Can the battery be replaced?
Yes, battery or a battery module can be replaced, just like any other technical part of the car.
Can I use the pure electric XC40 Recharge for long-distance driving?
This Pure Electric compact SUV is perfectly suited for comfortable long-distance driving. The battery’s high capacity with a projected range of up to 418 kms ensures you can do so without worrying about range. If you need to charge during the journey, you can do so at an AC charging station or DC fast-charging station.

What is the load capacity of the pure electric XC40 Recharge?
Smart battery design means all occupants have as much space as in an ordinary XC40. This also gives uncompromised versatility and smart storage solutions. The rear load compartment capacity is 413 litres above the load floor. The battery encroaches on the space below the load floor, but this is to a large extent compensated by the front load compartment under the hood, which offers space for charging cables and other items.
What equipment do I need to charge my pure electric XC40 Recharge easily and safely at home?
The standard-fitted home charging cable is primarily designed as an auxiliary cable for household applications. For considerably faster and more convenient charging at home, we recommend installing a 3-phase 11 kW wall box (which will be offered complimentary with purchase of XC40 Recharge SUV)
Please note: the availability of charging equipment may vary depending on market.
Why do you recommend 80 per cent charging instead of 100 per cent?
For DC fast-charging, our recommendation is to charge max 80 per cent. This helps keep your charging times short because it’s the last 20 per cent of the charging that take the longest time to achieve. But if needed to reach your destination or the next charging station, you can choose to charge the battery with up to 100 per cent using the settings in the car’s center display.
How does the car help me to find the nearest charging station?
In countries where Google Maps includes charging stations, you can find public charging stations direct from the map in the car’s centre display or via a smartphone app. From here you can also select preferred charging stations and get guidance.
How does the battery impact safety in a collision?
The battery means there is 500 kg of extra weight that needs to be addressed in an impact – for the car’s occupants as well as for other vehicles. The battery also needs separate protection to avoid harmful leakage after a collision. By utilising a range of innovative safety solutions, Volvo Cars’ safety engineers have met all these challenges.
How much maintenance and service is needed for the pure electric XC40 Recharge?
The electric motors are sealed for life and maintenance-free. So compared to a combustion engine-propelled car, the pure electric XC40 Recharge needs much less maintenance which may result in lower running costs.
What is the life cycle carbon footprint for the XC40 Recharge pure electric compared to an XC40 Petrol mild hybrid?
Over the full lifecycle, the XC40 Recharge pure electric’s carbon footprint will be lower compared to both the XC40 plug-in hybrid and the XC40 mild hybrid. The exact differences for the vehicle types depend on a lot of parameters, for instance the electricity mix when charging, the vehicle’s lifetime and driving behaviour.

How can I know that the car’s battery has been produced in an environmentally and socially responsible way?
Volvo Cars is committed to full traceability, helping to ensure that our customers can drive electrified Volvos knowing the raw material for the batteries has been sourced responsibly. The introduction of blockchain technology significantly boosts traceability within our cobalt supply chain. Blockchain, in conjunction with inspection on mine sites, GPS tracking, entry and exit scanning, verified logistics providers, facial recognition, ID checks, and time tracking, all contribute to a material’s traceability from a mine to the car factory.
Volvo Cars works closely with our suppliers to increase the sustainability of our products and services, including through securing responsible supply chains and making efficient use of resources. We are committed to the responsible sourcing of minerals and metals, and fully support the OECD Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-affected and High-risk Areas. In this respect, we require our battery suppliers to support our commitment to have full transparency of our cobalt supply chain by 2020, and to work towards full traceability.
Sustainability performance is a key consideration when assessing and selecting our suppliers. We monitor the performance of existing suppliers, and follow up with third party audits. We also put requirements on our battery suppliers to minimize carbon emissions during the production processes, including through the use of renewable energy. All our suppliers have to agree to the Volvo Cars' Code of Conduct for Business Partners, which includes the observation of human rights, including labour rights.
