Before you uninstall the Volvo Cars app, make sure that you have unpaired it from the car to properly remove the connection. It may cause inconvenience for you to connect to your car in the future if you only remove the app from your phone.
This article is applicable to models with Google built-in.
Ending ownership through the Volvo Cars app
By ending ownership of the car, all connections to the car and all profiles in the car are removed.
Note
Unpairing a phone from the car
By unpairing a phone, you will remove the connection between your car and the phone. You can unpair the phone either via the Volvo Cars app or via the car's centre display. Users with administrator privileges can view and unpair all phones connected with the car. Other users can only view and unpair their own phone.
Performing a factory reset
If you have a pre-owned car and the previous user has not removed their profiles and devices are still paired, a factory reset is recommended.
