Updated appearance of warning messages for Pilot Assist, cruise control, adaptive cruise control and speed limiter

With the software update released in May 2018, the appearance of certain warning messages has been updated for the following functions, Pilot Assist, cruise control (CC1), adaptive cruise control (ACC2) and speed limiter(SL3).

Pilot Assist, message that the driver must keep his/her hands on the steering wheel

Before updating:

  1. The Pilot Assist icon turns orange in the driver's display and a message appears stating that the driver must steer.
  2. If the driver does not follow the prompt, the message remains and a warning signal is heard.
  3. If the driver still does not follow the prompt, a sustained signal is heard, the function switches off and a message stating that it has been cancelled appears in the driver's display.

After updating:

  1. An orange icon depicting two hands holding a steering wheel appears in the driver's display together with a message that prompts the driver to actively steer.
  2. If the driver does not follow the prompt, the icon turns red and a warning signal is heard and repeated.
  3. If the driver still does not follow the prompt, more sustained warning signals are heard that are repeated in short pulses over a certain period, the function switches off and a message stating that it has been cancelled is shown in the driver display.

Pilot Assist, message stating that the function has been interrupted due to road lines not being detected

Before updating:

  • The Pilot Assist icon is orange and a message appears in the driver display stating that the function has been cancelled because the road lines cannot be detected.

After updating: The Pilot Assist icon is white with a red diagonal dash across and appears in the driver's display together with a message stating that the function has been interrupted due to road lines not being detected.

Adaptive cruise control, cruise control and speed limiter: Message stating that the function has been interrupted

Before updating: The icon for the relevant function is orange and a message stating that the function has been cancelled appears in the driver's display.

After updating: The icon for the respective function is white with a red diagonal dash across and appears in the driver's display together with a message stating that the function has been cancelled.

  • XC60, XC60 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid, V90 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid and S90 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid from model year 2018 to 2021.

  • V60, V60 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid and V60 Cross Country, S60 and S60 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid from model year 2019 to 2022.

  • XC40 Twin Engine/Recharge Plug-in Hybrid from model year 2020 onwards.

  • The range of models may vary depending on market.
