Introduction
Called #SelfieForSafety, this first-of-its-kind project will rally people all across the globe to unite behind one great
cause: turning selfies into safety research. Volvo Cars Safety Centre are continually doing research to develop safer
cars, this time data from participants will be the base for the next research project: A report summarizing a large
number of photos on people sitting in a car wearing their safety belt. The collected images will be sorted into
different categories and Volvo Cars Safety Centre will run the analysis and summarize the data in a report, released
later 2019.
Agreement
Thank you for agreeing to let Volvo Cars (“Volvo”) use your photo, video, post, and/or other online content (the
“Content”). To make sure that there are no misunderstandings between us, these Terms and Conditions will
identify the terms and conditions of our agreement.
By replying #YesVolvoCars, you grant Volvo the right to use your Content for a safety research study and as part of
any report resulting from such study to be published or referenced in any media and format, globally, without
limitation in time. In addition, you also grant Volvo the right to use the Content for any other lawful commercial
purpose as long as Volvo would like including, on any social media platform, in advertising, and in the promotion of
Volvo’s products or services regardless of the media used, and Volvo may edit, change or alter your Content as it
deems necessary, all without payment of any compensation to you or a third party. You also agree that you do not
have any right to review or approve the report, the finished product or advertising copy, or have any right of
attribution, and you agree that you may not subsequently withdraw your permission for Volvo to use your
Content. Further, you agree that Volvo’s subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, employees, representatives, assigns,
licensees, and anyone else acting on behalf of Volvo, or with Volvo’s permission, also has the right to use the
Content as provided in these Terms and Conditions.
Volvo respects the intellectual property rights of others and does not want to use any content that violates the
rights of any third party, or will be viewed as defamatory, obscene, or threatening to any other party. Therefore,
by giving Volvo permission to use your Content, you represent and warrant to Volvo that (1) you are the owner of
the Content you have provided, including all ideas, images, text, and intellectual property rights within the
Content, including, copyrights, trademark rights, patent rights, publicity rights, and privacy rights, or if you are not
the owner of such rights, you have already obtained permission from the owner of such rights and have the
authority to grant Volvo permission to use the Content as provided in these Terms and Conditions; (2) Volvo’s use
of your Content as provided herein will not infringe on the intellectual property rights, publicity rights, or privacy
rights of any third party, or require the payment of any compensation to any third party; (3) nothing in the Content
you provided is likely to be considered defamatory, obscene, or threatening to any third party; and (4) you are of
full age and have the right to enter into this agreement in your own name. You hereby release Volvo from any
claims related to Volvo’s use of the Content as permitted herein, whether in existence today or in the future,
including, without limitation, all rights, demands and/or liabilities regarding invasion of privacy, copyright
infringement, violation of the rights of publicity and privacy, moral rights and/or breach of confidentiality.
Processing of Personal Data
The Content compose your personal data. By replying #YesVolvoCars, you acknowledge and agree that you have
read, understand, and agree to the above Terms and Conditions and to Volvo Cars processing of your personal
data as further described below
Information Notice - Photographs, video and audio recordings

Volvo Car Corporation, a Swedish legal entity with company registration number 556074-3089 with address 405
31, Göteborg, Sweden, hereinafter referred to as “Volvo Cars”, “we”, “our” and “us”, will as controller process
your personal data as described below.
Purpose and legal basis for processing
We process the personal data that you provide in connection when sharing your Content with us. As described in
the agreement to which this Information Notice makes an integral part (the “Terms and Conditions”), personal
data includes information such as name, contact details, photos and video. The purpose of our processing of your
name and contact details is to administer your sharing of Content with us as well as our use of the Content as
defined in the Terms and Conditions. We will also process the Content for usage as further described in the Terms
and Conditions including use in relation to advertising campaigns in all types of media, printed and digital,
internally as well as externally, nationally as well as globally.
We will also use anonymized data collected from the Content as part of our Safety Research regarding how seat
belts are worn as described in the introduction above.
The legal basis for our processing of your personal data in order to administer your sharing of your Content with us as well as our use of the Content is that this processing is necessary for the purpose of fulfilling the agreement with you.
Disclosure / Recipients of your personal data / Transfer
Your personal data will be disclosed to and processed by companies within the same group of companies as Volvo
Cars and by our business partners for the above purposes. In relation to companies within the same group of
companies as Volvo Cars or business partners located outside of EEA, we will transfer your personal data with the
basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission – safeguarding your personal
data.
Retention time
We will retain your personal data for as long as we make use of the Content as set out above. In general, we make
use of Content for a period of years (2) years after the initiation of a certain campaign.
Your rights and contact information
Right of Access
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data that we store about you.
Right to rectification
We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or
remove information you think is inaccurate.
Right to data portability
You have the right to receive from us the personal data you have provided in a structured way.
Right to object to/restrict processing
In addition, you have the right to object and stop our collection of the vehicle data and have the processing
restricted in certain circumstances.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
If you believe that we are processing your personal data in violation of privacy laws and regulations, you have the
