Voice control of text messages

Voice control allows you to control functions in the car, e.g. reading out text messages from a connected mobile phone.

Reading out text messages

Using voice recognition to manage text messages

 Note

Before the voice commands for the mobile phone's functions can be used (text message, phone calls and media player) a mobile phone must be connected to the car. For information on how to connect a mobile phone to the car, see Connect your mobile phone to the car via Bluetooth.

 Note

Settings and menus in the centre display vary depending on software version.

To read out a text message, press the voice control button on the right-hand side of the steering wheel and say "Read message".

To read out text messages from an iPhone, you need to change a setting on your phone so that messages can be sent from the phone to the car, see instructions below.
