Driving out from parallel parking with Park Assist Pilot

Park Assist Pilot Option is a driver support that can assist you when driving out from parallel parking.

Park Assist Pilot, drive out of parallel parking

The appearance of the menu options and settings may vary depending on the software version and language settings.

When you want to drive out from parallel parking, tap on Park Out in the centre display's function view or equivalent button in the camera view.

Use your direction indicators to select the direction in which you want the function to help you leave the parking space.

Follow the instructions in the centre display and be prepared to drive forward, reverse or brake the car. Remember to always pay attention around the car.

When the system has calculated that no more manoeuvres are required to leave the parking space, it is deactivated automatically. As the driver, you are responsible for making additional manoeuvres if the circumstances so require. As the driver, you are always responsible for leaving a parking space safely.

Make sure that the steering wheel can move freely while Park Assist Pilot is helping to steer the car. Wait until steering wheel turning has stopped before you start to drive forward or backward. Always be prepared to take over steering if necessary.

Note that the steering wheel may rotate back on its own to start position when the function is deactivated. You may then need to rotate the steering wheel manually to drive out from a parking space.

Note that Park Assist Pilot cannot be activated when a trailer is connected to the car.

Park Assist Pilot is a supplementary aid and cannot handle all situations in all conditions. The driver is always responsible for:

  • keeping a close watch around the car.
  • following the instructions in the centre display.
  • selecting the correct gear.
  • controlling and maintaining a safe speed.
  • braking and stopping.

The function described is a supplementary aid - it cannot handle all situations in all conditions.

The driver always bears responsibility that the vehicle is driven safely and that applicable road traffic rules and regulations are followed.
