City Motors Volvo sponsor charity track day
City Motors Volvo sponsor charity track day for Wiltshire Air Ambulance
City Motors Volvo, in conjunction with The T5D5.org High Performance Volvo Club, is proud to be sponsoring a charity track day at Castle Combe race circuit on Friday 17thJune to raise crucial funds for the local air ambulance service.
Held annually, this year the not-for-profit charity event will be fundraising for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance by inviting Club members, local customers and racing enthusiasts to take to the Castle Combe track and put their cars through their paces – a turnout of 160 people are already expected to be there on the day.
Running from 9am-4pm, members of the High Performance Volvo Club will be raising funds through donations for wristbands for those who would like to sign up to be a passenger (over 16s only). Once signed up, passengers can have as many rides as they like, in any of the cars as long as the drivers have a spare seat!
For those who don’t wish to head out for a ride round Castle Coombe’s 1.85 miles track, funds will also be raised through a raffle with prizes being donated by Volvo Car UK.
The event will once again play host to members of the Wiltshire Fire Service, with some of their engines heading out to the track offering passenger rides. There will also be a display from the Police road safety unit and a special appearance of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter.
There will be onsite catering provided by Bristol-based Pizza Monkey who will be serving freshly made pizzas throughout the day, as well as a limited breakfast serving of bacon rolls for those arriving early, with tea, coffee and soft drinks also available. Fresh Orange photography will be covering the event and selling images on the day, a proportion of which will be donated to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
City Motors Volvo’s dealer principal, Mike Collett, commented: “With many of our customers hailing from the Wiltshire area, we’re proud to able to support their Air Ambulance service through this exciting track day at Castle Combe. The High Performance Volvo Club do a fantastic job each year raising money for charity so we’re also proud to be able to support them as part of this event. We’re looking forward to seeing all of the different cars out on the track with what promises to be a great day out.”
Clifton RFU Minis Rugby Festival
City Motors Volvo were proud to sponsor Clifton RFC’s 31stAnnual Minis’ Rugby Festival
City Motors Volvo were proud to sponsor Clifton RFC’s 31stAnnual Minis’ Rugby Festival on Sunday 25th September.
The festival is the biggest event in the Clifton calendar and is also one of the biggest in the South West with over 100 teams entered and over 1200 players ranging from Under 7s up to the Under 12 age groups.
The festival, which was played with the emphasis of teamwork and having fun, had no outright winners with the aim being all the children involved would come away feeling like winners at the end of the tournament.
As well as sponsoring the festival we also had an impressive line-up of vehicles on display at the festival including the All-New XC90 and the newly launched S90.
Despite the grey clouds and showers a great time was had by all and we must say a huge well done to all the players and officials on the day who all showed a great spirit and dedication to the sport they love.
