The new Volvo V60 Polestar Engineered
We are pleased to announce our sponsorship of the Port of Falmouth Flying Fifteens Association during Falmouth Week 2019
Yesterday marked the start of Falmouth week, a major attraction and one of the busiest weeks in Cornwall for locals and visitors alike. With its origins as a local sailing regatta dating as far back as 1837, the week has evolved into a major sailing competition in the South West.
As the official sponsor of POFFFA, we are proud to have the multi-award winning Volvo XC40 together with the stunning New Volvo V60 on display at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club in Falmouth. You will also see the crew and fleet of the flying fifteens sporting our sponsored t-shirts and bow stickers, together with a banner on the main slipway at the watersports centre in Falmouth Harbour.
Volvo has always had an involvement with sailing and we are very proud to be able to carry this forward at a local level. We hope for a fantastic week of sailing and events, and the best of luck to those racing from everyone here at Truro Motor Company.
Truro Motor Company ranked top Volvo Retailer in England
The team at Volvo Truro have reason to celebrate after being ranked the top Volvo Retailer in England in the 2018 Volvo Retailer of the Year Programme. Final rankings were recently announced by Volvo Car UK Ltd with Truro just missing out on the top spot for the UK finishing runner up overall.
The Volvo Retailer of the Year Programme measures performance across a number of key areas in both sales and aftersales including customer satisfaction.
Dealer Principal Nick Jones commented: “We are naturally very proud to be ranked the top Volvo Retailer in England and, whilst we were pipped to the overall UK title, the result is a real testament to the efforts of the entire team who work very hard to deliver high levels of service to our customers and underlines how well the team performed throughout 2018."

Volvo Cars endorses G7 Ocean Plastics Charter supporting its industry-leading commitment to reducing plastics pollution
Volvo Cars last week joined the G7 Ocean Partnership Summit, one of the most important environmental summits in the world. Volvo Cars is the only car maker to be invited to the G7 summit, underlining the company's position as an industry leader in sustainability.
The summit in Halifax, Canada, brings together governments, businesses and NGOs. Volvo Cars will explicitly endorse and support the G7 Ocean Plastics Charter and will present its own sustainability programme in detail, including its recent Plastics Vision that aims to substantially increase the amount of recycled material used in new Volvo cars.
Volvo Cars has one of the most ambitious sustainability programmes in the automotive industry, with the explicit goal of reducing and minimising its overall environmental impact. Reducing plastics pollution and working towards the use of more recycled materials in its cars is an important element of that strategy.
The G7 charter commits governments to take concrete and ambitious steps towards addressing the global problem of ocean plastics pollution, such as promoting more recycled plastics and reducing plastics pollution in their societies. Volvo Cars is the first and only car maker to endorse the charter.
